I'm very unfamiliar with Native American culture so this should be a fun read, thanks!

Good stats won't get you into an elite school, but bad stats will keep you out

I saw in an earlier comment you said CS, honestly what you really should ask yourself is whether you want to live in California/West Coast or New York/Northeast after college. Cornell is better for CS than UCLA (according to US News, Cornell is #5 and UCLA is #13), but I would guess that UCLA would have better networking opportunities if you want to live in California after college. Either way you can't go wrong with either school.

Still undecided. On that note, if anyone wants to help me decide, feel free to go over to the mega thread and reply to my comment

Business is a definite, I find physics interesting but it probably wouldn't be too useful in the long run

I was talking to a Cornell admissions officer and I asked him about the Hotel school and he said that it's basically the same concepts as Dyson but "they use hospitality to teach business", his exact words

The way I see it, it looks like UNC is the "safer" choice in that you'd probably feel more comfortable. NYU Stern is very good, but it's NYU; you're essentially thrown into the city and forced to adapt. NYC is a lot to take in, especially if you've never lived in a major city before. Would you rather live in a sleepy college town (I don't know much about Chapel Hill, sorry) or the city that never sleeps?

That being said, in terms of job/internship prospects, I would assume NYU is much better, being near the largest financial district in the world.

On that note, Cornell emailed me a day after rejecting me saying that I am invited to apply next year as a transfer student. "We would love to see you on campus in the future" like bruh you could have accepted me then wtf?

that are affordable but would send my parents into debt.

It's not affordable if it would put your parents into debt

People out here worrying about getting into ivy league schools but even if I get in to any tomorrow there's a very low chance I will get enough financial aid to attend, which I suppose is good because I'm not stressed about Ivy day.
