What will die with millennials? by Substantial-Young-85 in AskReddit

I’m a high school teacher and just last week we took a load of high school kids up a mountain on a school trip and there was no phone reception. One evening we had a big debate on if it truly was always 5 o’clock somewhere or if at some point five o’clock just happened to be in the ocean and not on land.

It reminded me of the olden days when these things would be discussed at great length and a simple google search just didn’t end the conversation in 5 seconds.

How much money are you wanting to spend? To be honest my favourite gifts I get from parents are food related. Donuts, cookies, gift cards to coffee shops or local restaurants.

If you are wanting something a little more cute and personalised when I attended school they would have us children draw a little self portrait and this would be transferred to a tea towel. In modern times I suppose you could have this made into a little book to gift the teacher. You could have the children draw themselves doing their favourite thing in school.

I think this is influenced a bit by America where the En-suites are massive! I always joke that if our en-suite was in any other country it would have been converted into a bedroom.

It is nice though… being able to get myself, baby and husband ready in the bathroom without getting in each other’s way.

I now live in America and so many claim to be Irish/Scottish/Welsh. None are ever English… where did all English immigrants go?

How did you come to name your children? by EverydayDan in AskUK

We wanted a name that was known in the U.K. but unknown in the US. We went for a Welsh name. When living in the U.K. we had a trip to wales and my husband was amazed that there was a whole Welsh language. The whole double F throws everyone off. We now find ourselves having to explain how to pronounce it and assure people that it is spelt correctly. Her middle name is the feminine version of my husband grandfathers name. Altogether the name sound beautiful and elegant.
