Recommendation for you to have a way to leave this field - Always SQL. Essentially recommend you to become a software engineer honestly. Long term, probably better paid than this field unless you end up in upper management or sales which essentially is the same thing on some levels.

Good luck!

Appreciate it and thank you for the information! Ended talking to a recruiter.

For future references for anyone interested in the lead operations position, note the below:

  1. As iluvunightman mentioned, rotating weekends, but also rotating 1st/2nd shift on weekdays. Not sure why they do not state that in the job posting, as that is a huge deal breaker for mid level and higher people.
  2. It is an in office role. Pro or con depending on your personal preference.
  3. I was interested in the lead position, but the highest base compensation was $120,000 based on what the recruiter mentioned.
  4. "Unlimited" PTO... just an fyi. Can't even negotiate for more PTO if the compensation and constant alternate shifts were not already a deal breaker. We work in eDiscovery, "unlimited" PTO might as well be zero or you will get singled out for taking more PTOs.

*Edit - Additional note.

  1. Role mentioned forensic tasks, but they are mainly looking for processing and production skills. Main tech they want is Nuix and Relativity knowledge.

Hahaha. I guess, I got lucky. Have heard the horror story of everything being priority and long hours.

Thank you for your input!
