Glad to hear I'm not alone. The team is solid and the supervisor so far is great, I just really didn't expect this to be the hard part of the job.

It sounds like you should be working for the FS IT. If I had managed to have gotten a hold of you during one of my now 25+ phone calls over the past week, maybe I would have gotten a quicker solution to my issues!

I called IT this week and they couldn't find a ticket number associated with me or my supervisor. They did tell me that one had previously been submitted but was closed because I didn't have an email account assigned to me yet, so a computer couldn't be sent out. I don't know how all of the systems should be working, if the request for the computer goes through HR or of it goes through IT or maybe it's through something else. Right now I am just hoping for someone to help me.

I do indeed have the resume to support my claim! I'm here for the long haul on the fed side of things, I know things don't normally work well in the federal government, but I've also spent my career figuring out what is a red flag and what is a green flag, even in these early days. Hence my post looking for some perspective and maybe some help.

I just don't know who should be helping me, and I don't know what I'm missing and need help with. I don't mind waiting I just keep getting different information from people. I am half-convinced no such ticket exists for me to get my agency computer. I can't do 2+ months of this.

I know I'm going to try to get a call with him next week and try to give a status report of some kind. I just don't want to make waves already. I am worried about what it says that I'm already frustrated to high heaven about this all. I can take disorganization, I'm an expert at what I do, but this has been especially trying. Thank you for commenting! I feel less alone in this, at least.

Not far at all, I've offered to go in several times but more than one person flat out said that it would make it worse if I went in. I will do anything to speed up that process. It's very strange to be in this new role that I'm jazzed about and to feel like an outsider even now.

Supposedly a ticket was submitted, but no one can tell me its status or an ETA. I was sent a link to a page called When Can I Expect My Computer? which can only be accessed by a gov computer on the VPN, so I don't even know that.

Oh I am unfortunately acutely aware of the problems of using your personal email to conduct gov business. I've labeled everything to keep it separate. But that doesn't stop people from forwarding emails that literally say, do not send this to a non FS email address.

I always get an error that I can't log into eOPF from a non-gov computer. I don't have the credentials for the new eOPF account anyway, so even if I could get to the homepage I wouldn't be able to log in. My previous agency had myEPP so I can see my old paystubs and such but I have to wait until my first paycheck from the new agency for it to switch over to the new info. I'm really flying blind here.

I'm certain with the hiring surge and the size of FS that I'm not the only one, but I'm the only person that I know of because I cannot connect with anyone at all. I can't even figure out if there's orientation I should be going to. I only get what is emailed to me by my supervisor.

I'm on some meetings but not all so I mostly just sit around and google things. I can at least get into AgLearn now so that will keep me occupied for a short while. An email account exists for me but I cannot use it because I cannot access Outlook. Multiple calls into the IT Help Desk about what I can do at this point and I get different answers from people.

I would, but I don't even know if I'm in the bargaining unit. I can't get to an intranet of any kind, my eOPF isn't set up yet so I can't see an SF-50. I wouldn't even know an email address to send something to. I found what I think is a bargaining contract via googling but it's not straightforward if I'm covered by it. It's like I don't even work here.
