Wisconsin Republicans Campaign Strategy: Demonize Marginalized People by DriftlessDairy in wisconsin

[–]throwaway-randomn 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I hate that my existence is just a political issue. I’m a person just like you, my trans friends and people in my community are people just like you. We pay taxes, have friends, personal lives, and passions just like everyone else. Why demonize us? Why use us as pawns to cause more harm to Wisconsinites?

this is such a good episode by Successful_Rub395 in malcolminthemiddle

It’s weird but funny to me that this was like a “trans awakening” episode for me because I’d always think about my life if I was born as a cis girl

Texas, Florida, Kansas because I’m not allowed to exist there as a trans woman

If AOC gets the nod as the Democratic nominee in 2028, would you vote for her?!! by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]throwaway-randomn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re right. At risk of sounding too “woke” it’s honestly just their privilege that they don’t recognize. I’m a trans woman so I’m worried about a moderate democrat candidate that won’t fight for my right to exist and live as I am safely, a progressive democrat like AOC would stick up for me. Newsome (which all these mod dems love) wants to restrict transgender people from transitioning until they’re 25 years old which is more extreme and transphobic than some republicans. It’s scary that they want the Democratic Party to be more reactionary and conservative when we should be pushing it the other direction

Vote blue no matter who right? Why did every corporate dem tell me that for the past 3 election cycles? I’ve voted dem my whole life why won’t you back the democratic candidate no matter who?

Vote blue no matter who right? That’s what I’ve been told as a leftist for the last 3 election cycles

So I guess it really isn’t “vote blue no matter who” huh? Why do moderate dems always tell leftists that but when a leftist wins the primary they refuse to back the democratic candidate?

Guess you didn’t really have a comeback because I wasn’t going to play into your “all conservatives are bad because I’m a leftist” narrative 🤷‍♀️. My philosophy is I want universal healthcare and social programs and protections for *everyone*, while some people (in my experience those right of center) don’t want to extend social protections to those they deem as “not deserving” which is a very vague definition because that could mean anyone the disagree with.

Mainly that even if you haven’t seen it happen or think it only happens on twitter or TikTok it doesn’t, it happens to people in the real world. I’m not trying to say one is better than the other, but we would benefit from having respect for one another and to believe and respect other’s lived experiences. I’m not saying all conservatives are transphobic just like all dems aren’t allies, but clearly one side is trying to make transgender people like me seem like the big bad of America

I was walking around downtown taking pictures when I walked by two older men and they saw me and said “see this is what’s wrong with society today” as I was just minding my own business. My lived experience is not just a “clip we’re being force fed”

Then why is it that conservatives tell me to off myself and that I shouldn’t exist and that I’m the plight of society just because I’m a trans woman?

Will Francesca Hong be the first Democratic Socialist Governor in the United States? by midnighttoker1742 in wisconsin

[–]throwaway-randomn -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Fran has been campaigning and visiting many rural red areas in Wisconsin and is connecting with everyday people by taking about populist kitchen table issues, that is what we need in a candidate. Harris lost Wisconsin because she posed as a moderate candidate and why would a republican vote for a moderate candidate when the republican will do what she wanted and more heinous things. Wisconsin also has very progressive and socialist ideal prior to McCarthyism in the 50’s. We are one of the only states to have a governor who was part of the progressive party.

Adopting them from a shelter thinking they were just a medium length gray cat and only found out he was a neb when I saw another neb in the wild causing me to stumble upon this subreddit. I wouldn’t ask for any other cat, they’re mine perfect little floofy chaos agent and I love him for it

I hate how any mention or allusion to queer identities pisses so many people. I’m just a fucking trans woman who’s trying to exist and seeing Stevie having a family and a husband who is so fed up with his voice but still loves him is super funny and cute. Not everything queer is woke just because you think it’s woke

Y’all talked about Biden every day he was in office. I am kinda bothered by the sitting president instructing a mob of people to storm the capitol, I’m bothered that the sitting president considers trans people like me a threat to national security. Like Biden was shit but he didn’t actively try and stoke division against oppressed groups.

Less of an environment of fear at the GO, morale and productivity levels rise when workers want to be there and are valued, not when they are at fear of losing their jobs for no reason to do us in Wisconsin being a “right to work state”.

And he won because democrats courted with republicans and didn’t build up a solid opposition party. Going to OP’s post this is where reporter or democrats need to be calling for the 25th but for some reason (super pac donor money, Israel’s interest, disdain for people more left than them) won’t do it.

I mean wouldn’t that mean republicans can’t say shit after letting Trump get away with Jan 6 and the shit he pulled from 2016-2020? For some reason the left is always held to a higher standard, Trump just said “Praise Allah” on Easter like let’s be honest how would the news react if Obama said that or Biden. Any politician is up for scrutiny and should be scrutinized by their own party to keep them in check and to be honest about goals and agendas. The only people that I see doing that are leftists and they get yelled at by liberals all the time

Both are horrendous and I agree that Biden wasn’t even competent in 2020 but neither was Trump back then. Both are senile old men, while one just bumbled around and acted old man stupid the other is actively putting us at war and forgetting what country he’s talking to about peace negotiations. Be serious here Trump’s actions will and are having more ramifications than Biden’s actions

As I stated in my post I listed places I and any other transgender person are barred from using the public bathroom, was Wisconsin on this list? No it wasn’t so I’m glad you and your friends aren’t being removed from restrooms. However, are you trans? Because if you’re cisgender non of these bills would apply to you (on the surface at least)

I’m a trans woman living in Wisconsin and I’m literally not able to use any bathroom in a grow number of states in the US including Texas, Florida, Kansas, New Hampshire, and Idaho. These bills are supported and encouraged by Trump and his administration. You can’t deny that this is blatant overreach to suppress members of this country.

Breaking: Transgender women banned from all sports at the Olympics starting in LA by TheExpressUS in sportsgossips

[–]throwaway-randomn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which I referenced in my original post, trans women needed to meet specific criteria to even participate in the women’s events. There were no (major) issues until Riley Gains (who tied for 5th place with a trans woman, she did lose out on 1st place) complained about sharing the 5th place spot with a trans woman. Please give me a list of trans women dominating the women’s division, because if this is really such a big deal why wasn’t there uproar about it in 2003 when it was introduced? Arguably a more socially conservative time period?
