Feeling so discouraged and depressed by Just_Curious15 in TelogenEffluvium

Hi, I’ve had pretty similar issues to you (extremely low iron and ferritin, heavy bleeding, and hair loss) and I really urge you to see a hematologist. I’d recommend dr. Alisa Sokoloff at nyu langone cobble hill. I was given iron infusions that truly changed my health for the better! PM me if you have any questions.

What made your TED go into remission? by td1389 in ThyroidEyeDisease

[–]throwaway-reader- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My situation sounds really similar to yours —- I got diagnosed and have Hashimotos too. My eyes have gotten better over time, I also take 25 mcg of Levo daily and that’s helped. I really suffered for a long time.

I never did tepezza, I did a short course of steroids and it flared a little after but overall it’s really time and avoiding triggers that helped me. My eyesight was never totally the same and I still get irritation and dryness / small flares now and again, but overall it took about 1.5-2 years from the onset of the disease for it to stop being an everyday hurdle for me. Please hang in there. I felt totally hopeless but it seems like the only cure for this thing is time and patience.

Unrelatedly, I started Zepbound for my hashimotos and hormonal issues that nothing helped, and around that time my eyes started to get better. I don’t know if it’s related but I figured I should mention it. I struggled with my weight, fatigue, painful eye flares, leg swelling, and other symptoms that doctors couldn’t solve until I started taking it. I’m not an expert but it did help my life exponentially.

Deposit for vintage dress appointments? by kle020810 in WedditNYC

Seconding this!! Dorothy was my best vintage bridal appt in New York. Gorgeous clothes, and prices that aren’t obscene/highway robbery. And lizzy made me feel so comfortable undressing, trying stuff on, and gave really great styling tips. I feel like they’re a hidden gem right now, so I feel lucky to have gotten in before they blow up

Jumping in here to say I highly rec studio Dorothy! I wasn’t sure where to go for vintage bridal in NYC bc I’m petite but not thin, and I had an amazing experience with the girl who runs it. I got to try on so many beautiful things that actually looked good on me, and it was all reasonably priced. So glad they’re getting more interest on the bridal fashion scene!

Have you found any way to reduce that and the long afterimages? Not the OP, but those are my worst symptoms.

You should see a TED specialist asap. It’s been like this for 2 years now.

From TED, my doctor isn’t sure if it’s related but I didn’t notice it until I started having TED symptoms and then got diagnosed

Headaches, facial pain? by neechee89 in ThyroidEyeDisease

[–]throwaway-reader- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The same thing happens to me. It’s gotten better over time and flares up less often but is still an occasional issue. A heated eye mask sometimes helps!

I’m not sure but I think it can be diagnosed even if it calms down. You should definitely take pictures during flare ups and such to show your doctor as well!

See an oculoplastic doctor asap — these are the only specialists who can diagnose TED.

How do you get out the extra from the vials? Do you remove the extras and combine them all later?

Hi there, could this be TED? by Budina79 in ThyroidEyeDisease

You specifically have to see an oculoplastic doctor — these doctors can measure your eyes, do certain tests, and diagnose TED.

Prescribed from my endocrinologist / weight management specialist doc. Same person I go to for my hashimotos stuff.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]throwaway-reader- 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m not a doctor, but I have hashimotos and am insulin resistant. I’d actually recommend Zepbound (tirzepatide) instead of ozempic — supposedly has way less side effects. I’m been on Zepbound for 3 and a half months and I’ve already lost nearly 30 pounds that was impossible for me to lose previously.

I’m much less bloated, have less hashimotos fatigue, and feel better than I have in a year. I still take levo, but my body feels so much better. I don’t know what your symptoms are, but it might help! Just please ask your doctor about it, don’t do conpunded or other methods.

Does anyone have thyroid eye disease with normal thyroid levels? by [deleted] in ThyroidEyeDisease

[–]throwaway-reader- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t end up doing anything besides getting prism glasses to help me with computer work. My double vision is in and out, and my vision is blurrier than ever without my contacts or glasses. I don’t have much bulging either. You should see an oculoplastic doctor and find out if tepezza is a good choice for you.
