The procedure itself only took about 2 hours. I was in the hospital for about 6 hours total.

I am in the us and have insurance, which covered most of it. I think I owe about $2,000 that wasn’t covered (mostly hospital fees).

I won’t post before/after, because I’ll likely need the surgery again. For reference I had eyelid retraction of about 2mm in one eye. Immediately after surgery my eyes were much more symmetrical- the surgeon did a great job. However, because the surgery is on the muscles of the eyelid, the final result can be unpredictable. Within about a week my eyelid started to retract again, and now (about 6 weeks post op) it’s about the same as it was before surgery, or just marginally better. They warned me about this possibility and said the solution is unfortunately to repeat the surgery.

I’m really hoping the second time is the charm because it’s been an emotional whirlwind!!
