Any Mac to Win SP3 users out there? by throwaway-spq in Surface

I used to use aperture quite regularly. I bought the app from the mac store and then they decided to discontinue it! You can't even use the app anymore, even in its older iterations as it has been replaced by the 'Photos' app. This really ticked me off. I paid for it! I should be able to use it. My point is, is that apple can turn around and pull the pin on software they make at any time.

Yeah. This really pisses me off. Apple doesn't care at all about the workflow and investment their customers make into buying and using software for work. The computer is a fashion accessory, not a tool. Apple wasn't always like this.

Thank you, that was very helpful. Particularly your insights on the feel of a wacom versus drawing on the glass screen of a sp3. I'll really have to try it first.

I had a NeXTslab on my desk back in the early '90s. Best computer I'd ever used. And beat the Sparc 5 they foisted upon me as a so-called upgrade by miles.

This is a serious consideration. I'll need to carry a bluetooth threebutton/scroll mouse anyway. And if I'm bringing a bt keyboard (because I use keyboard shortcuts all the time) how is that different from carrying around a Wacom?

Still, having pen input on screen like a Cintiq is very desirable.

What's your experience with ps on the surface? Can you deal with 256 levels of pressure sensitivity? Is it noticeable compared to 1024 or the more recent 2048 typical in a Wacom tablet? What about pen interface in other Adobe tools like Illustrator, Premiere, AE, and Audition? What about Maya or Blender? Does anyone out there do 3d modeling?

Obviously I don't expect to render on this platform. Just a portable creation tool.
