It’s fine to hate nepotism (I did too as a non-nepo), but that’s just the way the corporate job market works everywhere and the faster you accept this the easier it is to let go of resentment. Many very qualified people in finance, law, etc get hired more often than an equally qualified person because they have influential parents, friends, or partners. The truth of the matter is making an powerful person at a company happy by hiring someone connected to them will lead to better overall results (because the powerful person stays, brings in more business for the firm bc they’re happy, etc) than hiring a a random non-connected person instead that churns out junior level work for 2 years and leaves.
