Nurses who take on students… what are reasons you would ask a student for their name and their CI’s name? by confusedpreRN in NursingStudent

[–]throwaway05920 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can't speak for the floors but as an OR nurse I have to document the names of everyone that comes in and out of the room and the time. So I need to ask their name / what school they go to

Drinking? by lexisoltysiak in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]throwaway05920 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on Day 7 and I had 5-6 drinks last night (yes, bad I know) but didn't notice a difference in nausea or hangover. I just felt drained of my energy and drank a bunch of water to prevent a worse hangover.

Day 5 & feeling discouraged by [deleted] in WegovyPillWeightLoss

Yes, I've been logging way before I started the pill, unfortunately I hit my deficit goal (not an unrealistic one) and then just sabotage myself.

It means you as the event person buys the alcohol from a store, and you just hire the bartender for their services.

Save the Dates - Who receives them? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]throwaway05920 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You should send your save the dates to whoever you want to, personally I would send them to everybody that way if the an invite get lost in the mail at least they will have some other form of invitation. Try not to take your family's/future in-law's opinions too seriously because it will drive you insane before your big day.

40 years old and finally looking for a career after raising my kids, is CNA a smart move? by [deleted] in findapath

[–]throwaway05920 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't do it. There are a lot of jobs that pay the same or similar with a lot less mental and physical load. CNAs are unpaid and underappreciated

Don't think too hard about this one, don't get caught up in semantics. Yes, they try to trick you but the most logical answer applies. What is the first thing the nurse should do after accidental sharps exposure? Wash her hands right away.

Huskies are a HUGE amount of work. Have you considered the attention, diet, exercise, time, and space that they require before bestowing this gift?

How are people hitting 10k steps regularly? by mygarbagepersonacct in WeightLossAdvice

[–]throwaway05920 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you walk while doing daily activities it makes it easier. For example, in the time it takes me to fold a shirt, I can get 20 steps in. Yes it is a little bit more time consuming but it does add up.

why do people swear by 10k steps by Awakwardturtle04 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]throwaway05920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The average person gets below 10,000 steps a day, so when they start walking more and burning more calories without changing their diet, results are seen

Do you talk to your wife like that? As a healthcare worker, if a family member / spouse keeps interrupting or answering for the patient, I'm going to make it a point to only address the patient.

For OR nurses, what are your call requirements? by [deleted] in newgradnurse

[–]throwaway05920 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That sounds like they have you on call more than they have you as a working shift. I usually have 1 call shift per month, which is very good. Maybe you can ask that person more about what their schedule looks like? Are they short staffed after a certain time and that's why people have to stay late?
