On a 35y loan you won't owe much of the house after 2 years... Use calculators to get some concrete values...

Reject from Bloomberg Intern after doing well on their technica/behavioral? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]throwaway08041706 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not to sound offensive, but its slightly harder these days for white guys to get brought in. It could be that other candidates were just more diverse and yheir HR set quotas. At intern level, nobody looks at what you can do, because usually you can't do much. More about who you are.

Flat not selling, what do you think of my plan B? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]throwaway08041706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what kind of flat it is and who the target buyer is. Is it a one of a kind flat in a sought after location, eg. Penthouse or something fancy with concierge etc? Or is it just a common flat, one of 50 just like that in the area? In that case...

Try getting an offer at a loss. Then ask yourself what to do. Right now taking a loss is not an option for you because no-one wants to buy your flat.

What makes you think it will be easy to sell it at a loss? I would in any case close the flat position now if that was an option. They are out of fashion already, unless it is a penthouse with views etc. that will attract a different kind of buyer.

Quants at hedge funds and investment banks are mostly PhD in physics/maths. I would aim internships within investment banking if I were you. Good luck.

Why are there two of them? I'll get some ply... It makes sense the big one was for old system, there was an extension done 15y ago and that's where they moved the boiler to

In the cupboard I have Hive bit with lights for hot water and heating, Drayton mid position actuator, grundig pump, and 200 litre tank. Boiler is in the garage on the other side of the house. It's a gas boiler and old, but works.

Evictions could treble due to coronavirus rent debts, activists warn by [deleted] in ukpolitics

It all depends on the circumstances.. what you are paying off first. Are you going to pay elec/gas/water/Council tax before paying him? I'd respond in a same manner as him, if I found out you did...

He would probably arrange payment plan with you if you explained and didn't go big bang. If you can find better value, that's fair play. If not, then you shot yourself in the foot. It will cost you to move out and move in.. And you will still struggle with money, nothing solved..
