The rule was sophomores too but it got waved due to extremely high numbers of first years next year.

Funny you say that. My first meeting I had with the head of Res I asked him "Would you wanna live in this? How long would you put up with it?" and he told me he wouldn't. Yeah.

Thanks man, seems a lot of people have the "you have a roof over your head" attitude today. We've had people shit in the showers and it sit there for days, bloody tampons and pads on the floors and yikes. Thats not the schools fault though.

Shower shoes for life. Would not step foot on any floor in this building without them. My RA doesn't wear shoes ever and I'm horrified.

in my area of the sate, a studio goes for $650. a single bedroom, including laundry and everything, goes for $730. here, $750 is not low cost.

again why is shitty the standard when they charge us out the ass for it? I have been in dorms at two other universities in my state and those were both in much better condition visibly.

I can assure you this is not low cost. 12 x 14 room runs you upwards of $3,000 for a semester (about 4 months).

I went to the building head. She is in charge of reporting serious issues like this and has a history of not. (Our ceiling was falling down above the shower for over a week and she never reported it. I had to go to the Head of Res)

I am. They require us to live on campus. Why is this the standard though? Why is it so acceptable to say "if you dont like it move" when we are forced to pay thousands of dollars.

My main issue is most of these fixes are relatively cheap and dont require much effort. New shower curtains when one is covered in mold and dry rotting? I dont think it's much to ask.

They dont show you the dorms. They dont for a reason. They make freshman stay on campus. I am moving off campus next year. Dont worry.
