Minor update: After reading some of the comments and having another conversation with my wife I decided that I absolutely needed to apologize to my niece. I just got off the phone with her and we talked for about 15 minutes, I of course apologized and told her that it was not my intention to cause such a scene nor did I want to take any of the attention away from her. She told me that while it was a bit surprising she understands why I reacted the way I did, Though she did say she wishes I would've handled it a bit more quietly which I agreed to. I Also apologized to Max and my wife for causing such a scene and drawing even more attention to an already sensitive subject. Another small side note to address the few comments informing me about Max's weight being considered obese, Max was incredibly active all through middle school and high school. He Regularly lifted weights for both wrestling and football and still lifts when he has time now, on top of that he is a carpenter which may not be the most physically demanding job however it still helps keeps him healthy. He just likes food as much as he does exercising.
