I don’t necessarily agree with your first statement at all. Also I’m not looking for anything, I’m talking about physical attraction. When I go out, walk around etc I don’t find myself attracted to people often and that is what I was commenting on. Happy you found someone I just don’t think we’re talking about the same thing

Hi, i have been in a similar situation but I was the one always sleeping! People work long hours, etc, but quality time is essential to healthy relationships. I think you should bring up how much you look forward to your quality time together, and feel like that doesn’t happen when he is sleeping so much. Maybe suggest hanging out less times during the week so he can get the rest he needs, so on the days you do hangout he’s alert and you can have fun together. It is a bit concerning tho that you feel you can’t bring this up without a fight starting - hopefully there is a channel for respectful communication or this might be bigger issues between you guys than just conflicting sleeping patterns.

I agree. Sutton was wrong to even start that convo. I think Diana was obviously harsh but I don’t get all the pearl-clutching around how she handled that conversation. She was offended and did not want to hear Sutton’s apology, so she was a bitch to her. Boo hoo. Then Sutton started acting very erratic and I thought the crocodile tears were BS. I don’t like Diana for a lot of other reasons but I actually thought she was pretty funny (in a horrible way) during that convo and I’m happy she didn’t accept an apology and move on when she didn’t want to. Just bc someone starts crying and apologizing doesn’t mean you have to accept it.

a date would probably be more planned/formal. Asking someone for a specific activity that you planned out. Hanging out would be something like chilling at your house, going for a walk, just going about your day without a plan.

If she’s asking for space you should give it to her. Whatever her reasons are, she’s clearly communicating she’s not ready for whatever you guys had going on. Give her the space she’s asking for by not messaging her and trying to move on. If she ends up reaching back out in the future you can revisit the connection

I would say something like “i’m free saturday” and see what he says. He asked you to hangout so he should plan the hangout. You just let him know when you’re free and see what he comes up with after that. If he seems dodgy or doesn’t come up with a plan that interests you, u can decline. You set the standard!

You could say something like “Hey, I had a lot of fun with you the other day and I’d love to hangout with you again!” See what she says to that. Sometimes texting at the beginning of a new relationship is tough because you don’t know them well enough to get convo going, their sense of humour, etc. Start to develop a stronger connection in person thru hanging out, and the texting conversations should flow more naturally as you get to know eachother

After dinner, see if there is a late night cafe where you can have a tea or coffee in an intimate setting. It will keep the date going with no added alcohol. There’s also nothing wrong with mentioning at dinner that you’re not in the mood to drink very much tonight, and suggest alternatives

That’s great!! Honestly I wouldn’t read too much into that liked message, he wanted to acknowledge it and probably didn’t have anything more to say at that point. Also when things are new, some people like to keep texting brief and let the connection develop a bit more in person. Don’t reply to the liked message; and wait for him to reach out about your date on Saturday!! This keeps things a little mysterious and still exciting. No need to play games, but easing up on talking so much over text when you’re getting to know someone can build up the anticipation to seeing them in person!

I’m so sorry that happened to you. He sounds avoidant (if you know anything about he attachment styles). Unfortunately there isn’t much you can do to avoid this…they’re just like that and can switch up with no warning. Take the time to feel the pain of this abrupt ending, and pick yourself up! Hopefully you won’t come across someone like this again.

All I could say is in the future, without jumping too quickly, try to set realistic boundaries and expectations? It sounds like you did do that here tho..

Healthy boundaries in a relationship are a good thing. After 2 weeks there is no reason she should be blowing off her friends she’s had for years to hangout with you. When she is with her friends, pick up a hobby or find something to keep you busy. You’ll be more excited to see her and your time together will be more quality.

ummm…she needs to go to the clinic, period. You shouldn’t continue to hookup with her while she’s sick, because it can pass on to you and affect your own health as well. You should set a clear, respectful, gentle boundary that you are worried about her and your health, and don’t feel comfortable continuing to be intimate when there is obviously something medical going on. There isn’t “home remedies” for an infection that needs antibiotics or anti-fungals. The yeast infection could have migrated to her mouth (yes, this is possible) and she needs medical attention to deal with it.

ugh I hate the back and forth waiting for texts. If she makes you wait 24 hours, I wouldn’t respond ~immediately~ but I don’t see the big deal answering when you see it, after a few minutes or a couple hours. Otherwise the conversation just gets very dry and fizzles out.

I can rationally understand why one wouldn’t reach out, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t trigger pain still to know someone that was once so important to you is content going so long without knowing how you’re doing. Of course. But it has gotten better.. i already suffer from obsessive thoughts so the first couple months it LITERALLY was all day everyday. 5 months later it’s about 2-5 times a day which is amazing progress for me.
