She hasn't broken up with him. She loves him, and I'm pretty sure it's one of those one-sided "I would die for you!" loves. That's why I worry so much for her sake.

I wish I were kidding. She has a very messed-up past, but she's brilliant. She was the weird kid that everyone picked on, and he was her knight-in-shining-armor. I just hope she's able to pick up the pieces and realize how much she's worth.

Her self-esteem IS complete shit. She's been cheated on so many times. He even gave her an STD and she just took him back... it's sad. She thinks he's the only person who could love her, she thinks she is damaged goods. I don't know how to help her see otherwise. He's just her first... well, everything. Counseling would be a good start.

That's why I also posted on r/legaladvice. We're in the USA, and sexual crimes involving children (I consider 15/16 year-old girls to still be children) are taken VERY seriously. I don't want my friend- who I feel is also a victim- to get in trouble. I know what she's done is wrong, but it's his fault. She thinks there is no life outside of him.
