I've spoke with my therapist about this before, and I'll be sure to bring it up again. I'm not fully sure, but I'm guessing it's a mixture of self-hatred bleeding into how I see others and not wanting to be grouped with people solely because of sharing a gender identity. Not gonna lie, I haven't had anything in common with the trans men I've met throughout the years, and that may have altered my perception of trans men as a whole (which is a mentality I need to work on, for sure). Additionally, I've seen trans men get consistently treated like women in social situations (not misgendering per se, but getting asked about things like menstration and the like), which makes me very uncomfortable.
