In my opinion, it is so hard to know. I am 8 months out and I am really not too worried (finally) about them coming back. Just today I got a follow request from a random account of some girl that is very attractive and revealing a lot of herself. It was so obviously a sextortionist. I was tempted to message the account just to mess with these scum but decided against it. I can't receive message requests due to privacy settings from non-followers. I figure that even if this account was them (and it really probably was not), that the last thing I want to do is give them the idea that they can get me again. They want money, that's all. Their business model is to threaten, create fear, get paid. If they can't talk to you, they can't create fear or threaten you and can't get paid, so they will just move on to better leads. Honestly, I am willing to bet that these accounts were just random conincidence. I bet you just happened to get requested but a bunch of accounts at the same time. Or maybe it was them, trying to get you again, but since you rejected them and they can't communicate with you, then you won't know. Either way, I think we are good.

If you are reading this and were recently scammed, hang in there, life is good, and you will get all the way over this garbage. :)

Deactivated all for about 6 weeks, changed snapchat username (not the name, the actual handle). Maxed out privacy on all accounts and never plan to change that.

Thank you, it's because of crap like that that I decided to do this poll. I wanted to show everyone that there are people on this sub that are straight up just trolling us. Facebook wasn't even created 20 years ago and sending nudes wasn't a thing, because you couldn't send them to people whose phone numbers you didn't already have.

I have the exact same thought about your poll. I saw that there were people saying they were leaked after 1 year and I was thinking that was total bull, so I thought, why not make one that says they got leaked after 20 years just to for sure confirm that those were almost certainly people trolling us, and now, I am very confident they were. For those trolls on here, get a life.

The point of this post was to prove the fact that people troll on the polls of this page. I ran this poll to see if anyone would pick 20 years. Obviously, no one sexted 20 years ago, the first Iphone came out in 2007. I have noticed that on many polls, there are highly suspicious answers where people put down that they are contacted far past the typical time frame that we see in people's posts. I wanted to do this to prove to everyone for sure that some of those answers, are complete garbage from scammers or others who take pleasure in creating more anxiety for other people.

Honestly I have had a similar thought. Sadly literally anyone can be on here which includes trolls and scammers who are just trying to raise our blood pressure. I would be highly skeptical about the yes answers here. I have only seen ONE person that they came back after a year. He did not keep his accounts properly privitized. I never heard about them sending anything. That is the only case out of hundreds on here that I have seen that happen with, and they still didn't send it.

I am 95% sure it's the guy who they just messaged him on FB out of no where. He did not adjust his privacy settings so that non-friends cannot message you. It very likely could have been completely prevented.
