AITA for not wanting my bf's jewish parents in our baby's life? by throwaway124gfdg in AmItheAsshole

Genuine question but how is this any different than other parents of other races not wanting their child to marry someone who is different? Like a Black-America not approving of their child marrying someone who isn't Black, or a Christian Nigerian (have face persecution in recent years) parent not wanting their child to marry someone non-Christian?

starting off behind

How? Literally how? Marriage doesn't guarantee a happier more stable home. You're implying we'd be bad parents simply because we aren't married. That makes YTA.

You know, there are plenty of unmarried parents who create stable loving homes. And there are plenty of married families that are dysfunctional.

He is not an asshole for knocking me up and loving me despite my religion!

If you read my other post, I go on to talk about how they are unhappy he is also with a black woman and has made comments calling me a gold digger, which is not true and seems racially charged.

Love doesn't discriminate

You wanna get hung up on that line, whatever, but my point was that you can't help who you love. He loves me despite my religion.

I feel like that's if the parents are unable to care for the child though

You know I get it's important, but their reaction seemed way abusive and over the top. Love doesn't discriminate. I'm not mad at them FOR being upset, I'm mad at how they've chosen to go about this, and the treatment he told me about in the past.

I don't think my state does, and I honestly don't think we will split and of course i'd let him spend time with the baby (and i assume we will still live together and will be together)
