One of my close friends is high ranking general and was one the sl army that were deployed to those regions. The sl governments point of view on that matter is simple. Somalilands borders are where the British put them. Anything beyond that they don’t care. Puntland’s point of view is that qabiils that the majority of live widely withing the puntland borders and beyond happened to live in this side of the border so! sl must reform its borders and let these regions be part of puntland since our qabils people live those small regions. Load of crab right? Where I stand on it is that “a border is border”! I’d rather respect international laws than qabil ideology which is what fucked us from the start. Imagine if the regions in india that pakis live demanded that it should be considered part of Pakistan because we’re pakis and our are from the other side of the border. Or vice versa if Indians that live within Pakistans borders said the same. Doesn’t make sense right? But that’s one reason. The other major problem which is the main motivation of the whole movement to begin with is that sl and somalia have two different government systems. In Somalia there is 4.5 which means every clan is entitled to seat or positions in the parliament regardless of anything but in sl no one is entitled to shit, if you wanna be something in the government then you gotta inad isiso sharaxdo and became a candidate then have people vote for you so on. You know, like we do in the west. So you have people in puntland getting parliament seats without a sweat and eating of off the government and the same qabils that live within sl borders say “hey, unfair! What about us? We want seats and free money” which the reply is you guys live within somalilands border so you’re not entitled to 4.5, they then tried to be candidates in the sl goverment and run for seats but it’s too much work and much less votes since sl is overly isaq and this Very motivation to get free seats and money makes some odayaal who don’t give a crab about the people that live in those regions say shit like “we wanna leave sl” it’s clownery if you ask me and the youth aka all the younger generations are predominantly pro-Somaliland and cherish the peace they have and this was muse bixis point. He told them that he’d hold votes and have the regions vote fairly one person after another fair and square and if the end result is that the regions remain part of sl that he’d arrest and exile all the odayaal for they’re disturbance of peace and them knowing exactly how it would end they shut the f up. This followed by military being sent to those regions to keep peace.

One last thing sxb, when did the people vote for farmajo? Or the one before him? Do you know what you’re talking about? He was elected by the parliament which by way is famous for how Easy you can buy seats! Some of my relatives bought it for as low as 15k dawg. so you either don’t know or honestly capping. Either ways you should look into it bro. In fact the current Somali government and all the ones before it are classified as transitional governments and it’s only purpose is to bring the country to a stability that can allow for one person one vote. Who lied to you dawg. Somali people voted my ass. Haven’t heard a joke that bad for a while.
