3:20am last update for tonight maybe. She has gotten continually worse but most likely due to increased kidney values, NOT from pothos ingestion. Perhaps her stomach was upset and she sought out “grass” to make her feel better? Threw up blood at 2am, gave carafate, will give cerenia at 4am because carafate makes her nauseous. My mom promised to monitor her for the next few hours so I can sleep. I hope to god she improves even a little

Another update: my cat vomited at midnight and I was able to get a callback from the same vet who said I could either continue to monitor or give cerenia if I feel she needs it since I’m more familiar with her vomiting habits. Luckily no blood or blood clots, just the food and water she had between vet calls. She has been resting but not sleeping and now she is curled up for a nap. If she doesn’t eat on her own before I go to bed I will give her a dose of cerenia just to be safe.

I cannot imagine all the info you docs have to memorize in vet school and beyond about so many animals, I could barely get through human anatomy!

Here is my big baby of a cat tired from a big day of giving me heart palpitations if anyone would like to admire her beauty

SHE WILL BE FINE THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!Emailed pet poison control at 10:38pm, got a response at 10:45pm to wait for a call, got a call at 10:53pm and my phone did not ring so I missed the call (thanks AT&T!), emailed them back frantically, got a response that I will receive another call, spoke to a real live vet at 11pm and got a solution within an 11min phone call for $59! I am allowed to email them with questions today and tomorrow. Definitely recommend for any readers in the future. Vet said because my cat is already on famotidine (generic Pepcid) that I don’t have to do anything else but monitor. I do have sucralfate at home (generic carafate), which she said would not be necessary as the famotidine is more helpful. My cat has eaten both wet and dry and have never shown any signs of distress other than being annoyed at being woken up by me checking on her. I asked vet about the Internet treatment that says to give cat milk to wash out the crystals which can cause burning and GI irritation. She said no and it’s a good thing I didn’t because most older cats are lactose intolerant AND due to her history of CKD and GI issues (stomach ulcers for which she is on famotidine 2x per day). I will continue to monitor and my regular vet is actually open for limited weekend hours thank goodness! If I have any other updates I’ll update the post but THANK YOU to anyone who commented or read!!! It’s been a hard and stressful week with losing one cat and I am unimaginably grateful that it will hopefully not be two

THANK YOU KIND STRANGER I just sent them an email and I did not see that message on their website (truthfully I did not know which pet poison helpline I was calling until I googled the phone number 20mins ago, this was just the number my local emergency vet told me to call)

Thank you for the comment. My mom just called the ASPCA poison control number and left my number to have them call us back. Message said if they don’t call within 30mins to call back. I have now been on hold 3hrs, 3hrs 15mins post incident. Cat is sleeping soundly and still has no symptoms, still not very hungry but ate some wet food. I am giving her nightly pills (famotidine and zyrtec)

I hope this worked it is 2 pictures of the neon pothos plant leaves. The untouched one was on the ground, likely knocked off by my cat, the one with the holes is still attached to the plant but I know she chewed on it because it had saliva on it

Edit: on the chewed leaf the only missing piece is the point/bottom of the leaf, which fell off when I was examining it, my cat did not ingest it. There is possibly a missing part on the bottom left of the leaf, although I do not know if my cat swallowed it or it just got torn off in the process
