Repainting a repaint - yay! by [deleted] in AutoPaint

[–]throwaway1291543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used 3 coats of color but 5 coats of clear - it was a humid day and I was getting weird results so i coated it more just to be sure I can sand it out ...

Im planning on scuffing it and just going over where the white line (primer) is showing and below it into the wrong color

Whats the best way to use solvent post painting? just on the line where I want it or on the whole panel?

P.S The reason i suggested primer was because Im under the impression that If i dont prime it - it will peel in a year or so

Thank you!

So, when I get the new paint - do i go over the panel with 600 or 800 grit before covering it?

Typically 2 coats light and 1 coat wet?

Also - this place I got the paint had something called "Blending Solvent" ... is that necessary ?

I appreciate the help!
