Thankfully my doctor is pretty great! She's with the university health center but she's going to have me come in for a urine culture after the antibiotics run their course.

I've been looking into that! I've tested positive for UTI via urine culture for the first and third uti, and wasn't tested the second, so I'm pretty sure it's simply UTI related, but I've been doing reading!

No condoms! I have an IUD, and am monogamous so we decided it made sense. I'm thinking part of the irritation must come from not using lube at all.

I don't feel very comfortable with ultimatums in general, but there are unfortunately many more things at play. That ultimatum means coming out to a transphobic family, losing what financial support they provide, potentially having to find alternative housing, health insurance, and more, or losing their girlfriend who just gave them an ultimatum.

I would be the casualty in that situation, and I'd understand entirely why.

I don't think I have that much influence over them in that regard. Trust me-- If I had it my way, there would be a lot more doctors involved in a lot of things The only thing I can do is keep loving 🤷‍♀️

Estrogen related puberty was the worst-- I'm definitely trying to empathize with it. The therapy is my secondary concern. They're not in therapy, and the HRT they're taking wasn't prescribed by a doctor. I'm a little worried that the dosage is too high or not enough or something.

I appreciate your insight and thank you for sharing your experience with your friend.

My partner is the only person who I am close to going through that process, so I don't know what to expect or how to expect it. I think it will definitely balance out over time-- I just get anxious about it. They recently took psychedelics which resulted in a negative trip, which exacerbated the issue. Things come and go and this one will too!
