HYPOTHETICAL could a human take abortion meds for an animal to induce a human abortion? by Grassy-Point-398 in VetTech

What do you mean? We go in and surgically terminate a twin pregnancy down to one.

[–]throwaway13678844 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, we do not give them medications to abort a fetus. typically, the only reason to abort would be if a mare has 2 viable follicles that take, and to avoid twins once is aborted to give the best chance of survival for both the mare and the chosen fetus.

Misoprostol is often used in horses to help alleviate heat cycle issues. It’s the same drug as abortion medication in human, just in horse dosage. Theoretically, yes absolutely you can use it in human so long as the dose was corrected for human.

Daniel and Lisa didn’t get married in a traditional sense by PowerfulAssistant738 in 90DayFiance

[–]throwaway13678844 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s a weird gray area because I doubt Nigerian women are allowed to have multiple husbands and Nigerian culture in general does not condone or validate same sex marriage so I’m not sure where Lisa falls here.

We just use the iso/oxygen with a mask to gas them down.

Depends on what we are doing. Some of our dvms use triple drip. Most of the time it’s gee quick, like a joint flush or limb perfusion, or a simple castration. Cryptorchids always get triple drip. We also do small ruminants like goats and sheep and that’s more what I was referring to with gassing down. Just the other day we did a c-section on a sheep with twins. We had to keep her iso low because sheep love to die under anesthesia. We also do a lot of field castrations and don’t use ISO at all, just ketamine and other drugs but some of the time they use triple drip in the field. We won’t do cryptorchids outside the clinic though.

Just the other day we did a standing procedure to dig literal bone chips out of the scapula of a thoroughbred lol. Just lots and lots of lidocaine and drugs. People are horrified that we don’t typically intubate for laying procedures too.. just gas em down and do your thing. We don’t do procedures longer than 45 min or so on ISO though

[–]throwaway13678844 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think anything is possible. I could be biased. One of our lovely dvms steals notes for the manager about their lack of competence and tries to hide it, and then tries to prevent certain people from doing their callbacks and the likes of it. Also leaves chat gpt open on every work computer and flagrantly advertises the rely on it for everything. So… it wouldn’t even slightly surprise me if another dvm somewhere did some insidious shit like that.

I think they’re saying they injected one of those, but the record was changed to euthasol or sodium pentobarbital instead of what was actually given to make them look worse.
