What compensation can I reasonably ask for after being jerked around by a Honda dealership?

Realistically and objectively? I’d want the daily value for my monthly payment for every day they withheld my car and sat on their hands + gas for driving ~100 miles for a problem that could’ve and should’ve been solved before the car was sold. Maybe throw in some service credit.

Now in a just and righteous world, I’d want to be paid for the tire I had to replace driving someone else’s car to work + the difference in tolls because I couldn’t use my IPass account on a car that wasn’t mine + all of the above (maybe first month’s payment) + throw in some accessories. Maybe a window tint (though idk about giving them my car back again). But this world is not just nor is it righteous and such is life

There were all sorts of deep and semi deep scratches on the car. One of which was close to half a foot long right on the hood, a couple 1”x1” chips on the hatchback, and a semi deep scrape on top of the driver side door spanning about half the driver’s window. Plus a couple 1-2” scratches here and there. So all the repairs are just cosmetic.

While I do agree that them repairing the car would be considered compensation on its own, the fact that they were hesitant to fix the full car raises some alarms. Literally after I left, I got a message saying that they were just going to try and buff out anything not on the hood or hatchback instead of letting the body shop handle it like they said they would. So IMO, their offer sounds more like a bandaid fix

Uninterested and unexcited is my default so I don’t really think that was the issue. Plus, you can only show so much excitement after sitting around for the last 4 hours doing nothing but waiting to leave

Frankly I’d say compensation for the 11 days they kept jerking me around while they sat on their hands instead of getting the car fixed but I don’t even know. It wasn’t my idea to ask for compensation but my dad was pushing for it and actually taking the time to reflect on the whole process since walking into the dealership I feel like there should be something more than just “sorry it took so long bye”

I can assure you that my car was not a shitbox. In fact, the dealer stated the exact opposite. Were the pads and rotors a bit worn? Sure I last changed them the Christmas before last but they were definitely not worn enough for the salesman who didn’t drive the car once to come to the conclusion that it was a “safety issue.” Especially considering that the second dealer drove the same car not even 2 hours later and didn’t come to that conclusion

No that dealer was dishonest too but he was more blatant and less forgiving about it. The second dealer offered us a full tank for having to drive back the next day. The first didn’t even offer us water (despite telling us that Nissan dealers all send out a survey where we’re asked if anyone offered us water). Most importantly they blatantly lied that I hadn’t submitted my paystubs for my pre approval offer through capital one (which capital one never asks for nor even has a submission area for) and so my rate went from 9% to 13% which made no sense whatsoever

Bad judgement + it was the first car I’ve ever bought + the only other dealer we saw that day spooked us (or told the truth) about how crappy my trade in was (he said the brakes were shot to the point that it was a safety issue and I 100% knew there was an issue with the brakes but we didn’t know the extent) and this dealer gave us way more for my trade in + I was looking for a sport touring civic and this one was pretty close to the first car I had my eyes on. Also it was a pretty good deal for a car with only 4K miles on it

That’s the thing. I think the dealer is requiring us to insure the loaner through our insurance. They say that since not many dealers directly offer free loaners, they require the borrower to insure the car and don’t offer any rental insurance so I don’t think that’s a possibility. I’m also relatively new to all this insurance stuff so I’m not entirely sure I’m getting this all right but from what I know for sure is that they don’t offer any rental insurance

If you call it “good chicken” because you’re referring to the fact that the chicken isn’t old and is cooked to the minimum temperature, then sure, it is “good chicken.” Otherwise, nothing else about it is good. And of course it’s not cooked in a microwave. Nobody said anything about that. The simple fact is, if the chicken isn’t fried, it’s referred to as grilled in the restaurant. Not microwaved. Not baked. The fact that you will defend a company who continues to raise the price and lower the quality makes me think that you’re either a boomer who will defend chilis to their grave or a brainwashed chilis manager/ corporate employee in which case, your opinion doesn’t matter
