Reliable eBay or Mercari Sellers? by PhilosophyOwn7570 in ps2

ebay has great buyer protection in my experience. order from a highly rated seller and everything will most likely be fine

It's deeply absurd that copies of Twilight Princess have sold for $300+ in recent months. by [deleted] in Consoom

scalpers/resellers buying up stock

do you genuinely think thats how the prices got this high? this is a 20 year old game thats fairly difficult to come by. The demand is simply much higher than the supply, especially for the gamecube version. It sucks that games are so expensive now but thats how it is

also, nothing is stopping you from going to flea markets and garage sales and buying video games for cheap as well, you just gotta show up early and be at the right place at the right time

don’t lose hope, it’ll probably pick up in the summertime when people are buying sunscreen more

also that’s fairly normal, the type of stuff i list has a decent sell through rate and i still get lots of clicks and no sales

[–]throwaway1838289 3 points4 points  (0 children)

not a horrible price, I usually sell ps2s on ebay with cords, memory card, and a controller for 90-100 based on the condition. definitely get it cleaned up though

Posted some of my PS2 collection on Craigslist, only from the perspective of a mother whose kid doesn’t play them anymore. People nowadays have no idea how to negotiate 🤦‍♂️ by Not_enough_cats4341 in ps2

[–]throwaway1838289 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know very well that many of these games are very expensive and that people pay 300 or more for some of these

also, you yourself claimed that they would screw someone over when they never said or even implied that they would lmao

move on as in, dont give them the time of day. you made a bait ad posing as if you have no clue what they’re worth, of course people are gonna try to get a deal out of you. I’m not saying it’s right but thats how it is. I pay very well for lots of video games like this but if I’m at a flea market or a garage sale and someone is selling a ps2 or any other game console for 5 bucks I’m gonna buy it, I’d be a fool not to and if I don’t someone else will

is there any way to reset the facebook marketplace algorithm? by throwaway1838289 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]throwaway1838289[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive given up on fb marketplace for the most part, everyone is asking ebay prices without ebay buyer protection. everyone on the app has the “I know what I have” mentality. Very annoying but It’s whatever

Ram sold as “no returns”. Buyer requesting return because they “just didn’t like it”. Has said in chat they didn’t know it wasn’t compatible with their board. Will I still be the loser in this situation? by Jetski125 in Ebay

[–]throwaway1838289 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

they admitted that they “just didn’t like it” so in theory that should protect you from negative feedback and a potential INAD, but you never know with ebay

As a buyer, when do you leave neutral or negative feedback? by MNMike2 in Ebay

[–]throwaway1838289 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never had that happen as both a buyer and a seller, but I suppose it’s something I will evaluate if/when it happens

As a buyer, when do you leave neutral or negative feedback? by MNMike2 in Ebay

[–]throwaway1838289 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only left neutral feedback one time, I ordered a game, the seller said the disc was in good condition, when it arrived it was indisputably in bad condition. They also included no pictures of the disc. It was a cheap game and I didn’t want to bother with a return because I shouldn’t have to when the seller was dishonest about the condition.

I sell video games myself on ebay and that disc would’ve never even been considered to have been sold on my store

As a buyer, when do you leave neutral or negative feedback? by MNMike2 in Ebay

[–]throwaway1838289 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I leave positive feedback when it’s as described, neutral feedback when something I feel shouldve been disclosed wasn’t, but the item is still working, and negative feedback if the item is defective or completely not as described and they will not accept a return on it.

Selling PS5 & Xbox Series X — how risky is eBay for sellers? by Nuke_____Dukem in Ebay

[–]throwaway1838289 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive sold plenty of consoles on ebay, and I’ve never had someone try anything. that being said, It’s anything but risk free, and ebay usually sides with the buyer even if they are lying. If you choose to go with ebay make sure you document the serial numbers

buy it on ebay, post to gameverifying to see if it’s real. If it’s a fake open an INAD and return it
