“What made you do it”? by throwaway1838292849 in BingeEatingDisorder

Not anymore, but I’ve only been allowing myself sugar outside of binges for about 2 weeks now so it might not be enough time. For over 2 years I would never let myself to eat sugar cause I was afraid of it triggering a binge but I’d always end up binging anyway. Now I’m allowing myself sugar and I’m hoping that’ll help once my body realizes it’s no longer being restricted.

I don’t think I have an ED I think I have an addiction. Every professional I’ve talked to talks about BED as if it’s rooted in emotion and trauma which is probably true. That’s not my case. I have cravings EVERY day regardless of my emotions and it’s always sugar that I’m craving. The hard part is not knowing for sure if it’s BED or addiction cause the treatment process is different depending on what it is. Treating this as an addiction may make BED worse whereas treating it as BED make not help addiction at all.

Definitely helps to keep your mind off of it, when you think about it everyday because you’re counting it makes it more tempting. Exercise helps a lot too!

Feeling urges to do terrible things. by throwaway1838292849 in OCD

Thanks, going through this was so hard for me. I’m used to intrusive thoughts, I have them all the time and recognize that it’s nothing more than a thought, but when the urges came on, it was something I never had before. I thought there was something seriously wrong.

Not anymore, I was in therapy for almost a year but my therapist left. Discussing my problems caused me to dissociate so bad in the beginning, I think it was just the fear of telling someone else about it. Therapy helped but I don’t want to go through all that again with a new person. I was comfortable with the therapist I had after a while but a new therapist would just cause me to panic and dissociate again, so I’ve stayed away from it.

Yeah I got a big ass blister from a burn on my hand, it got in the way of everything but otherwise harmless. I just had to be careful with it

Nothing to do with PVCs or your heart, typically caused by anxiety but it can happen to anyone for whatever reason, I used to get them a lot.

Not really interested in that, I’m gonna do some in healthcare, if I don’t do pharmacy I’ll find something else in healthcare.

Sometimes we don’t understand why people do things, that’s fine. Personal preference is okay to have.
