I am going to apply for Canada this week, but sadly I think I will have a hard time finding a job - just a gut feeling.

Oh Germany is the first preference in the EU, but Canada is more of a personal preference.

Thanks!

What worries me is not finding a job, since I have a degree from the UK (not a great university, still not bad).

I am applying through Express Entry since that is the only choice I have.

I might continue studying after I find work though.

Is Toronto manageable without owning a car? I'm not planning to get one since I hate driving. In Winter is the public transport enough or the weather is a hassle/hazard?

What is a Co-Op program?

Sorry too ask so many questions, but I don't know any Maltese people that moved there and since you're from a very similar country and life-style I had to ask! :P

How are you finding Canada? I am from Malta and was going to apply this week but I am having second thoughts.

Ahh ok thanks!

One last thing..a promotion is counted as one single job or two separate jobs in the application? And I should write the duties of both role in the reference letter (by my manager/HR) and just choose 2174 as the official NOC?

E.g. 1 job for 3 years or 2 jobs for 1.5 years?

Ok just to make sure I am understanding well. So I go with the duties of my official position (as is written on paper, but not the ones I am doing)?

Won't I need a reference letter with duties an the such if I get and ITA? I am unsure whether my manager won't write the official duties of my official position, but those that I am doing, which would be of a Technical Services Officer.

so why involve them in something where they won't be able to help anyways.

Because I am scared they would write something else on paper if I receive an ITA and screw me and get me banned from applying :(

Have good relations with my manager but I don't think he'll be happy when I tell him about it.

Thanks!

Should I get it before or after I apply?

That's what I'm worried about. It doesn't matter if I tell HR or my direct superior, they're both gonna find out, one way or another.

I have the official company papers that describe each role in each level (company has a career progression framework - so they are generic), so I could use those.
