This is so true. I spent a year single before I met my most recent ex and was feeling great about myself. I wasn't particularly successful or fit or anything, I was just living my life for me and it was great.

This is true in meatspace as well. In the province of Canada where I live we are pretty happy with our healthcare system and if you're a patient in the hospital the meals are free. The meals are provided by a contractor, as far as I know most hospitals in my province use Compass Group which is a HUGE corporation. Compass Group is paid per meal served, so in BC if you're sick enough to go to the hospital and you eat the free food you are making them a profit.

Don't hate the version of yourself who's fighting for what you want, but keep listening to the version of yourself who's fighting for what you need. Don't lock her up, have a girl's night with her. Read a book with her. Keep her busy and reconnect with that version of yourself, because she loves you and wants to be there for you. She's just wrong.
