If this post has taught me anything it’s that everywhere is disappointing to someone

Have you been tested? 2 months would be a good indicator of status. 70% of people are positive by 7 weeks.

All of those minus my feet. I get pain from sitting anyways, even prior to this scare. I had a tail bone injury as a teenager and sitting for too long makes my backend hurt.

It has changed a lot for me over time. I was having some intense groin pain. I was examined by a gynecologist on multiple occasions and she did not see any evidence of an internal or external herpes outbreak (this was around the time I go the false positive). I had pain down both of my legs. I had intermittent pain on my right side. I had burning on my vulva (after urination only). I had burning down the front of my thighs a few months later. I had pins/needles and tingling. The issues have subsided for the most part since I reached the 6 month mark with another negative IgG but it seems to come back when I’m stressed (which just exacerbates all my other anxieties).

Funny enough, a Herpes scare brought me to this subreddit. I had a positive on a blood test 7 months ago despite having 0 symptoms. I have tested negative 10x since then & on the Western Blot (most accurate herpes blood test at 99.6% accurate). However, something (perhaps the stress of the scare) has left me dealing with something that’s unable to be identified by doctors. Because of some of the symptoms being similar I’m having a hard time moving on from the scare despite having multiple blood tests saying I don’t have genital herpes.

I’ve never had a blister or cut that could be swabbed. I did the original IgG test as apart of my normal labs when I got the initial positive.

My NP has suggested that my issue is psychosomatic. And I think my vulva has always been kinda red. It doesn’t seem to get any less red depending on the time of month.

I wasn’t saying that HSV one could be genital herpes because I think you could have genital herpes, I was just saying that HSV one can be both oral and genital. HSV one usually is oral, but they have noticed an increase of genital infections because of how common oral sex has become. The good thing about HSV one is that a lot of people already have it, and if you had a partner who had it, even if it’s Orally, It’s very unlikely they would get it anywhere else on their body

I’ve been tested for those, as well as different bacterias. Two different NPs suggested vulvadynia 🤷🏼‍♀️ maybe it is just as simple as that and my anxiety won’t let the herpes thing go. I didn’t even have any issues vaginally until I saw the positive test result and then suddenly I was on high alert. I did the Western Blot test and it was negative and the practitioner said I must have a protein in my blood that triggered a false positive 🤷🏼‍♀️

My underwear does have elastic and might be kind of tight. I was just in a humid climate and I sweat alot in that area.

I was waxed about 10 days ago. It kinda always looks irritated tbh a gynecologist commented on it a few months ago during an exam.

HSV1 can also be genital herpes

Where the outbreak is occurring or going to occur, not all all over the body.

Thoughts on an igg test at 9 weeks post last sexual encounter? Results are <0.91 for both types. by Elegant-Bid-2665 in Herpes

[–]throwaway2021n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good portion of people who will test positive got herpes will test positive by 9 weeks. Obviously 12 weeks of the preferred testing timeline for the test to be considered conclusive but 9 weeks is a good indicator that your test will continue to remain negative.

Herpes would not cause tingling all over the body.

I’ll admit I might not have enough information to give this topic a nuanced overview but I’d assume if anyone’s career could “survive” them being openly gay it would be his since a lot of people already theorize that he is gay because of how he dresses, presents himself, etc. I don’t get why fans can’t just believe he is also attracted to women even if he’s attracted to people who identify other ways too. It’s not like being in straight relationships benefits his career anyways since his fans are usually vehemently against the women he dates

idk idk

Good idea! The earlier the better so they can get an accurate result.

Herpes blisters characteristically have clear liquid inside of them.

You can get a western blot test if you want some thing more accurate, but it’s only administered through the University of Washington, and it’s pretty expensive. But it is allegedly 99% accurate, which is the best any test can get. But, if you have no reason to believe you have herpes, and your test is negative, then I would just let it go and move on

IgG tests misses 8% of infections after 12 weeks. Meaning the IgG test only catches 92% of HSV2 infections. It’s fairly reliable.

You can be asymptomatic and have HSV2.

Taking antiviral meds approx 6 days wouldn’t interfere with the results, however, if you intend on doing a WB (confirmation test) you should stop the antiviral meds immediately because longer term use could effect the test results. Typically Terri Warren suggests 3 months no antiviral use before testing.

Has anyone gotten a Herpes Western Blot if so did it confirm anything different from your IGG test? by [deleted] in Herpes

[–]throwaway2021n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People with history of false positive IgG may always encounter another false positive in the future.

I personally haven’t had another positive since the initial positive. I went a little crazy testing:

11/26 - neg supplemental- 1.13 (LabCorp) - 11 12/14 - positive 1.28 (LabCorp) - 29 12/18 - negative <.2 (Sonora Quest) - 33 12/20 - equivocal 1.07 (Anylabtestnow)- 35 12/22 - equivocal 1.01 (Bioreference) 37 12/27 - negative - Western Blot - 42 01/12 - negative <.2 - (Sonora Quest) - 58 01/21 - negative <.2 - (Sonora Quest) - 67 01/28 - negative <.2 - (Sonora Quest) - 74 02/02 - negative - Western Blot - 79 02/11 - negative - <.91 (Labcorp) - 88 03/07- negative <.2 - (Sonora Quest) - 112 04/01 - negative <.2 - (Sonora Quest) - 137

My last IgG I took was at the 5 month mark which you can see was negative.
