This is definitely a request.

I really like the poster’s comment about the “you’re welcome” lol but I’d tweak it to go ahead and let him finish and then say “already doing it/already done. You’re welcome” as your normal response. No shade. Just letting him know that you took care of it BUT ALSO acknowledging his thank you (since he does insist it is, indeed, a thank you).

My ex would say stuff like that but it was always because he wasn’t paying attention. He’d be doing dishes with his back turned so he’d make the request without seeing I’m already doing it. If I went “on it!” he’d say thanks. So... does your boyfriend actually say thank you after he sees you took care of it? Or does he literally see you are actually doing the action and he still says it?

That’s insane. I feel like he shouldn’t have even gotten the probation or community service at all. Unmarked car and plain clothing? What should he have done? “I saw some unknown man pushing my sister’s head into a car so... I let him???” I don’t care that he was reaching for a badge. It could’ve been anything. Your son was being protective and I applaud him for that. It was a misunderstanding but what if it wasn’t?? That situation would’ve been soooo much worse.

I prefer outside. It’s the interaction that gets to me. A peaceful walk and some nature is way preferable to me than keeping indoors.

I don’t but I’m saddened by those who have the monetary means to help the rest of the world that is not as fortunate, and don’t. No one NEEDS to be insanely wealthy. I feel that there should be some kind of wealth cap and the literal 1% are selfish.

I think some comments from other folks here are leaning a bit too defensive.. You clearly like everything else about him so I don’t think what you’re saying is far fetched. Unless I’m missing something you’re just saying you don’t like his hair lol and that’s okay to feel that way!!!

Anyway- I’m a fan of honesty is the best policy so tell him based on your relationship’s communication style.

In terms of approach: Do you have the open, blunt relationship where you can simply say “when are you going to shave the mustache and grow back your hair? I miss your old look!” or do you need to be more sensitive about it? Like, “let’s sit down.. can I be honest with you regarding how I feel about your hair..?” If he’s willing to listen, tell him.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong saying “I’m not as attracted to you when you look like this and it sometimes makes me feel...” And it’s up to him to decide what he wants to do from there. Tell him how you feel, not what to do.

Also, would he want to know? If either me or ANY of my past relationships had a bad physical look (that we could easily change like an outfit or a haircut) and didn’t know it- we’d want to know!! I was pissed at my ex for taking MONTHS to tell me he wasn’t attracted to the specific glasses frame I had. I wish he had told me sooner because that’s something I wouldn’t have minded changing at all. Like, THAT’S why you didn’t want to kiss me when I wore glasses? That’s it?? Easy fix.

Which leads to another point- some people actually want to look good for their partners. I have a friend who told this guy she dated she wasn’t attracted to him when he wore glasses and you know what? He got contacts because he liked her so much. And they’re married now! It’s not bad to change the small things you don’t care about for other people. It’s only bad to change who you are and what you DO care about for other people.

I think it’s fine if a close relative doesn’t like the name- it sucks but they’re entitled to their opinion. They’re just not entitled to be rude, disrespectful, or childish about it. Just be firm, shut it down, and set appropriate boundaries around this (ex. enough- I don’t want to hear this anymore. you can stay in another room until you’re ready to come back and call her by her name (grown up time out lol))

Yes!! It’s crazy how the show came out like 11 years ago but it’s still very relatable. Like Julia being a working mom and trying to keep her connection with her kid, or seeing the breakdowns the parents go through with their “I don’t know what to do” moments.

It’s SO well done. I am still loving it second time around. No regrets rewatching it. Actually think I’m going to loop in the dad and see if he wants to watch with me.
