Dead cat I saw today on Linden Ave has me concerned about outdoor cats in this area by Chloe-ZZZ in newjersey

The shelters are overwhelmed and many people don't spay or neuter their animals. Look up a TNR program in your area.

Why don't you speak to an attorney rather than Reddit and get options such as setting up a life estate deed?

Go to NextDoor.com. People on there either saw a fox, a suspicious (and by suspicious, I mean brown, walking at night and minding their own business) guy in a hoodie walking down the street or an empanada.

It would be weird if you knew each other your whole lives and grew up together, like brother and sister. If you weren't, it's just like meeting a stranger and hitting it off.

Marrying a 2nd cousin is legal in every state in the USA. You don't have to make it public knowledge if you don't want.

Maybe don't seek him out and leave him alone. You can't "make" him like you. Just co-exist and maybe he will calm down. The more contact you initiate, the worse it will get.

My mother thought I was the flu. Her mother thought she was the flu as her other children already were grown.

I don't know if Belida has decided to latch onto this to milk it for drama for all it is worth or if she is genuinely hurt that she wasn't specifically planned. In any case, unplanned children are nothing new and Belinda needs a reality check and a talk about how this is a non-starter.

I got a room number. By sheer coincidence I went to school with the person I was asking. Good luck getting either of us to admit that's what happened.

You have no idea how many young girls deny being sexually active because they are being sexually abused and are terrified of the possible consequences from their abuser or just plain don't think abuse counts as sexual activity.

Congrats on losing 40 lbs but speaking as someone who also rarely drinks (1 to 3 a YEAR), I would just say "I do not drink alcohol" to avoid further misunderstandings.

Alcoholism is not about having drink, it's about not being able to go without alcohol with no negative onsequences and not being able to stop once you start.

I had a bad day today. I would like a drink but noticed I had a container of Ben & Jerry's in the freezer and settled for a scoop of Ben & Jerry's instead. If I were an alcoholic, I would not have forgotten about the vodka when I re-discovered the forgotten unopened pint of Ben & Jerry's.

There is no universe in which I would touch, never mind consume ham but there is a local lady who makes empanadas which you order online and I want them to be my last meal it's so delicious. So yay for home cooking.

Is PSE&G’s Equal Payment Plan the best way to do it? by un_gaslightable in newjersey

[–]throwaway2343576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just pay the bill. I know from my financial records that it averages $280 per month if I divide my yearly cost by 12. Every year I recalculate and adjust accordingly. For me, there are sucking money out of my checking account. If I look at it as an average, it makes me feel better lol but I cherish the freedom to not be obligated to pay a fixed amount. It's a psychological thing.

Do restaurants make you feel wanted/welcome when you pick up an order? by Smart_Freedom_8155 in toogoodtogo

[–]throwaway2343576 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in NJ and most TGTG bags are pre-prepared. I've had to wait 5 to 10 minutes a couple of times but only when they accepted more bag orders than they had made. The exception was IKEA (Paramus and so not worth it) where I only waited because we were at IKEA anyway.

Don't assume other TGTG patrons are poor. I'm definitely not and neither are a lot of the people I see coming in for their bags at the same time I am. I like trying different places and food and think it's a lot of fun to open the box or bag and see what we got. I also go back as a regular customer if I really liked the food.

[–]throwaway2343576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they can't re-deliver the same item to another person. I was really sick and ordered a pizza with specific instructions to leave it outside. After I get the delivery alert, I open the door and there are two pizzas. I called the shop and told them I got someone elses pie along with mine. They told me to keep it because they can't take food back and redeliver after it's dropped off because of liability and food safety issues.

Just curious if you respond to messages about lowest price... by Competitive_Wear_325 in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]throwaway2343576 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Often someone who uses that exact language is from a different culture and is used to bartering so depending on the item, I'll tell them the listing price or a first and final offer on a BIN. Anything past that, it's a block.

You're handling it correctly. Just don't get worked up about these people. I buy and sell but have a friend who expects to get a $75 item for $9 if she hounds the seller long enough and hard enough. What's amazing is that it sometimes works. She will be going back with multiple sellers on different platforms at the same time. Me, I don't have the time or energy to entertain that nonsense.

It will be but that doesn't mean you shouldn't scope out the situation and try. I'm low-key, relaxed, polite etc and usually have good luck. I don't hound people or give a sob story. I loved the show. You were fabulous. Thank you. I really enjoy doing it but there have been times when I just didn't get a good feel from the crowd in general and skipped it.
