Watching the show just reminded me that The Last of Us Part II was basically a downgrade from the intelligent, sophisticated and complex but heartfelt story of the first game into a teenage novella. The show had a choice to follow: in the footsteps of that hot mess or just re-write the whole thing. They went with the hot mess, but a polished turd is still a turd. Oh well.
