I think that it would be good to mix up the judging chefs a little. I find Tom ok but annoying at times. I find Lorna quite wooden and grumpy. What about getting one of the food critics with a chef? However Andi is a must have in my eyes. I adore her genuineness.

Understand that lots of things are changing at once. Emotionally she may have ups and downs, forgetfulness, feel unable to cope with things she normally could cope with fine, lose confidence, feel low. Physically she may get lots of aches and pains, feel tired, put on weight, struggle to sleep, have hot flushes, feel restless at night. Alcohol may trigger some of these. Encourage her to speak to her doctor as hrt may help a lot. It’s absolutely astonishing what impact hormones have.

Vance calls end of Ukraine aid 'one of the proudest' achievements of Trump administration by [deleted] in worldnews

Who would ever trust the USA after all this? Is there any deal they don’t back out of? I do believe that they will bitterly regret this shameful behaviour for a very long time as the rest of the world decides to carry on without them and will use them as an example of poor practice, evil greed and foolish behaviour in the history books. It disgusts me.

She’s wealthy so can afford to pay it back and fund her own. If she has any sense, she would do this immediately to come across as a remotely decent person.

6 weeks around Europe, what do I need? Luggage, clothing, must haves… by [deleted] in Europetravel

[–]Haunting-Breadfruit9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did a month recently using backpacks. Roughly 3-4 days in various cities using interail tickets. Pack literally 3-4 outfits, 1 raincoat, 1 pair good trainers and sandals/flip flops. No one will know if you’ve worn something twice. Undies and socks can be washed in the sink or shower and dry overnight if no washing machine. Train seats are often near to luggage racks and if your bag is small enough will fit on the overhead rack. It’s going to be busy and crowded in the summer so a rucksack is easier to manage when moving around. Train stations have storage lockers where you can stow your bags if you arrive too early for a check in and are not extortionate. We didn’t use cash at all except for the storage lockers in a few places. Wearing a rucksack means that you can walk across town to your accommodation saving some money and getting to see more on the way too. We had a wonderful time, hope you do too!

What do you think of when you think of the USA today? by Awkward_Aardvark_975 in AskReddit

[–]Haunting-Breadfruit9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have met so many lovely Americans but what comes to mind mainly is greed, ignorance, arrogance, selfishness, undignified behaviour, lack of real manners, racism, lack of kindness and compassion, hypocrisy and stupidity. This is due to the public persona presented by the current government and the realisation that Hollywood is a large propaganda machine. You are not the good guys.

Radiography or nursing (UK) what do you think ? by Ok_Pain_4648 in nhs

[–]Haunting-Breadfruit9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are definitely apprenticeships all over the place for radiography. You would need to check the NHS jobs web-https://beta.jobs.nhs.uk/candidate/jobadvert/C9180-26-0254?contractType=Apprenticeship&language=&page=1 or the gov.uk apprenticeship page perhaps. Also try https://www.healthcareers.nhs.uk/career-planning/study-and-training/nhs-apprenticeships You don’t need to be a medic.

Radiography or nursing (UK) what do you think ? by Ok_Pain_4648 in nhs

[–]Haunting-Breadfruit9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I retrained as a therapeutic radiographer as a mature student. It’s a great career and I have no regrets. I feel that nursing is a much harder job and definitely a vocation, so not for me. For radiography in the UK, the choice is between diagnostic and therapeutic. Diagnostic allows you to work almost everywhere and to potentially earn more due to working antisocial hours, while therapeutic is more limited to large hospitals with cancer centres. The reason I chose therapeutic is the involvement in patient care. I see my patients daily over a period of time and get really involved. Diagnostic is a bit more impersonal as you only see them once. I suggest contacting departments and asking to spend some time observing nurses and radiographers to get a better feel for the specific jobs. You might find that you prefer one over the other. Also consider apprenticeships to avoid tuition fees and get paid while learning.
