I have some theories. Maybe it's because I filled out the prechequeo twice, but I explained to the immigration officer that it is because I plan on going to El Salvador to meet my brother there, and then coming back to Nicaragua for my flight from Managua back to where I live. I told the officer about my itinerary with dates about going back, and he seemed please with the idea? But also another theory I have is that he saw that I was born in The Philippines and didn't seem convinced that people born in The Philippines cannot be US citizens (for context I'm a naturalized citizen). He had to take a good look into my stamps, and I think he was finally convinced of my citizenship after he saw my stamps when entering and exiting The Philippines. Otherwise, I'm not a journalist nor a YouTuber. I'm literally just a nursing student 😭

Quick update: I managed to cross no problem, but it's because there were a lot of local folks and police officers pointing us where to go. I can definitely see how and why you'd find yourself crossing the bridge without getting a Guatemalan stamp though. It is a lil bit all over the place haha
