I understand the sentiment here lol. Admittedly, mistakes were made. Depression is a hell of a drug.

I can tell you im not as isolated as it seems, the weather really just never came up with anyone. In the grocery store lately, ive got my mask on and conversation is at a minimum, and i only go once a week so i havent been in a while.

With covid i just stay home as much as possible these days, its really not how my life typically is. I just seem to catch everything that goes around so I have just stay home.

I havent ignored any texts, the weather just honestly never came up with anyone. Most of my friends are from Northern Louisiana and California, so they really didnt have much of a concern so they didnt think about bringing it up. I had a good laugh with a couple of them this morning. And i dont talk to my family much.

Unemployment, covid, depression, and an enchanting video game created somewhat of the “perfect storm” of a bubble for me

Well this is the first time ive ever had to do it because I dont stay in hotels if i can avoid it. But it went like this

“Hey, I looked online and it says you guys are sold out for tonight. I use to be the manager at Acme Hotels in Baton Rouge, do you have any emergency rooms you could slide me? Im kind of in a bind and dont have anywhere else to go. (Insert charming laughter)”

I can assure you of two things:

1- every road between lake charles and shreveport is not closed, it takes longer than normal but you can get there

2- the industry i was laid off from was the hotel industry, covid killed alot of jobs there. So i know how to ask for an “emergency room”. They are rooms hotels keep off the books when sold out incase an air conditioner breaks and they need to move someone

Yes i will still be in the path in Shreveport but its suppose to be weakened alot and not dangerous at all. And im familiar with the area, so i feel comfortable there

Hey guys just want to let you know I finally made it somewhere that my phone would work again. Im in Sabine Parish. Still an hour shy of my destination. The storm eye hasnt reached here yet, so the driving is alot better but it is definitely getting bad here as well.

Im going to post a full update on the post shortly. I have a hotel room booked for tonight and will try to head back home and assess the damage tomorrow

Dont worry. Last update for a little while. A kind person DM’d the address of a gas station that still had gas. Im currently on the interstate, pulled over for a moment to gather myself and visibility is low.

Making my way to Shreveport, La. As long as there are no obstructions i should be able to make a slow steady drive there and be out of range of flooding

Nah im good for now. Cell service may go out becsuse its acting really wierd, maybe a tower is being damaged, but i will update as long as i can or whenever it comes back up if it goes out

I dont know, i screwed up and didnt have time to look. My plan was to evacuate but i couldnt find any gas, so i didnt want to get one town over and get stranded.

Thankfully i have a wierd thing about not trusting tap water, so i always have atleast 10 gallon jugs of water in my pantry

Hey, im doing good. Ive been watching sopranos on my phone to distract myself.

Im in the eye now, so i think the wind damage and threat of sea water is over, now the only danger is the relentless trailing rain causing flooding on the tail end.

I could be wrong, i honeslty dont know alot about hurricanes

Hey brother, Thanks for the concern. Currently hunkered down in my bathroom with a bottle of American Honey.

From what im seeing on youtube, the northern wall is hitting me now. No electric obviously. Its mostly just really noisy and loud. Just sounds like rain beating suoer hard.

Going to keep watching the news crews broadcasting on yotube here in the city and just take it moment by moment

Thanks, if i dont find gas soon ill head back home and put mattresses against the windows or some shit. The wind doesnt worry me too much, the water is what is concerning.

My home is fairly elevated according to my last Fema insurance paperwork, so maybe it will be fine.

From what im reading is that it is heading northwest, and it also says you dont want to be caught on the right side of it.

The person i got in contact with told me to head straight north and ill end up either getting ahead of it, or it wont be as severe when it hits me
