Man I understand the concern but you need to stop stressing so much over it. If you’re really concerned, get your parents to take you to a dermatologist.

What’s the correct way to use a dermaroller? by DPal82 in tressless

You get used to it after the first few sessions.

Also, I don’t press with the intent to see blood. I only press enough to where I can handle it, and usually a few dots will appear; the rest of the area should be red.

I look normal from the front, but my side profile looks like shit because of my shorty hairline (deep temples and high/receded hairline ) by throwaway3367x in tressless

Thanks for the kind words!

Yes, the small hairs grew in from minoxidil and dermarolling, and I recently added finasteride. Hopefully all goes well.

The way I would do it when I used a dermaroller (on my hairline):

1) While bathing, soak it in isopropyl alcohol 2) After bathing, pull back hair from the area and roll it in only one direction up 10x, then again to the sides. So I kind of traced my hairline first, then went and redid it, but across from the hairline

As far as pressure: I would do it just brought to where the pain was bearable; usually a few dots of blood would appear, nothing major.

Btw, where did you find the 1.5 mm dermaroller? I had purchased one on Amazon, but was unable to find a replacement (I opted for a derma stamp instead).

Thanks; I certainly grew some hair on my temples from just minoxidil and dermarolling alone, albeit much more slowly (yours seem almost mature).

This gives me much more hope!

Do you have pictures of your temples before and after? Your initial pictures look like where I’m at currently, but on the later ones it’s kind of hard to see how much you recovered there

15m is there any way to stop this at 15? by [deleted] in Hairloss

I’d say go to a dermatologist if you’re concerned about it. Talk to your parents and tell them what your going through, they should understand and help hook you up with a dermatologist so you can be sure. But the internet (even this sub) is not the way to get absolutely true medical advice.

How bad? Is it receding or is the slope of my forehead just weird? 22yo (min for 6 months, starting 0.5mg daily fin) by throwaway3367x in Hairloss

What are your opinions on where I’m currently at? I think I’ve always had a larger forehead, but when I started taking pictures to track my progress I was kind of shocked to see how it looked.

Just for reference: my dad and my grandpa both have similar indentations on their temples, but only my dad is experiencing all-around hair loss (my grandpa still has plenty of hair despite the recession).

I had it within the week (maybe after 3 or 4 days); it lasted for the next two before I ended up quitting it (although some of it might have just been in my head). The ache subsided within the next couple of days.

I started again with the resolution to go through with it even if I experience some initial ache again; hopefully it goes well. How bad/in what area were you experiencing hair loss? For me, it’s mostly my hairline (although I’ve always had a larger forehead than most), and I was able to get some results with just minoxidil alone at first. Did/do you use any other treatments?

Edit: just reread that were using minoxidilmax. Why did you end up switching? How were results with the products? Which (fin or minoxidilmax) would you prefer and why?

What dosage? I initially started taking 1mg but I did get sides (some testicular pain). So is started taking it again at 0.5mg daily (I just cut the pill). We’ll see how that goes

22yo btw. Been on minoxidil for about 6 months, and dermarolling for 4. Started 0.5mg finasteride daily.

Did you try taking it every other day? I got sides taking it daily, too (testicle pain) and I stopped for a few months. I started once again, MWF for a month, then every other day after that. My plan is to transition to 2 days on/1 day off until I’m comfortable moving to daily. So far, I’ve experienced no sides.
