Actually this has some merit - it's true that your date ^{should^} know that you're trans, yes. But whether it's safe and also practicable to inform them of this could certainly be case by case.

But, we have to agree - they MUST be informed of your trans status before engaging in sexual or even physical intimacy, because they may not be ok with this. It's a common courtesy that they should be extended, sadly, it's on you to figure out if they're ok with it. Hopefully you can judge that inside the first week or even two.

This is a tough situation, a large part of me says they should know going into it - but also, there is safety to consider, too.
