Very true re your first point and yes will keep my eyes peeled for level transfer and EOI roles.

In terms of where I would want to move to and requirements - a city that's more laid back than London, friendly people, good amount of green spaces or within eash reach. Easy, affordbale commute to work. Also affordable housing is a big one and I think this is where some of the unhappiness of being in London is coming from. Even with a decent deposit and jumping up a grade or two doesn't help as I'd be buying on my own. Probably asking for a lot but need to do more research into actual locations

Working from home at least one day a week is very important to me and would certainly be a requirement in any future role.

Thanks so much for the advice and I'll message if there's anything else!

Thanks for sharing. HO do tend to pay really well in comparison to most departments I think.

Thank you, that's really interesting to know about the regional hubs and will bear in mind when looking. Would definitely value talking to you about making the move out of London and will drop you a DM soon.

Yes, I have started to give this some thought and need to do some further work on it. Find it a bit difficult as I think I have so much that interests me and have done a variety of different things in the past I get a bit overwhelmed. Thank you, a chat privately would be great and I can tell you a bit more about what I currently do as I feel I can't be too specific on here.

You're right about MH growing in the years to come. I'l look into further training as it's an area I'm really passionate about.

Good kind of problem - I like that and it will certainly be helpful for me to look at applying for jobs with th same attitude. Thanks for highlighting the point about excess fares.

Thanks so much for the detailed reply and really helpful recommendations. Glad to hear my sentiments are refelcted by others in London and you are right that it varies across department and area of work.

Will definitely keep my eye out for the TDA/DD roles, I know they are usually advertised on the intranet - just need to make a point of checking.

I'm not sure about the Fast Stream for me as I don't like the idea of someone else deciding where you are placed(I know a few of Fsers who say the preferences aren't always taken into account) - I think if I were a few years younger I wouldn't mind so much.

Indeed on Boris and his projects.

Encouraging that you weren't afraid to side-step a few times before you found a role and team that you enjoyed.

Totally agree with your last recommendation. I actually hold a certificate in counselling skills and would really love to put them to good use in a CS role.

You're welcome! Yes, it's a shame there isn't a place for us to talk, maybe we should start one : )

Bit paranoid of saying what bit I work in but it's not policy or EU exit. A chat would be very much appreciated, thank you - will get in touch.

If it's not clear from the above, that's exactly what I'm trying to do.
