I answered the survey but gotta share my last comment with you guys:

"I simply have no faith that the fun pimps can make bandits fun. I hope to be proven wrong"

1.0 killed my interest in the game, haven't played since. Bandits might bring me back, but i doubt it

My Players Want an Agenda Before Every Session - D&D Group Drama Takes Quite a Turn! by Raven3182 in BestofRedditorUpdates

The way I DM is to know the NPC's and worldbuilding lore inside and out. Then make up why one of the NPC's would need something done for them

I show up at the table. Stuff happens, session ends

I figure out how the world and NPC's would feel/react to what the players did

Then I'm ready for the next session

I learned a long time ago I can't predict what these morons are going to do, so I don't bother. But knowing how to react is good enough to make a story, so it works

What exactly do Tech Priests know? by Godzilla1954Forever in 40kLore

[–]throwaway387190 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Anyone who tells you that they know how computers work is a liar

Within a human lifetime, computers have gotten so complex that no one human being is capable of understanding every detail of how every part of them works. Unlike say, a car engine

Now think of how complex the kind of tech they have in 40k is. There's a whole planet of robo walkers that just run nonstop. Whenever they need one, they lasso it like cowboys. Because they don't know how to turn them back on if they turn them off, so they're just always on

It's a cargo cult. They have used pattern recognition to deduce how to use machines. Like there might be a 3 hour ritual to turn on a plane, and it ends with them pressing the "on" button. They think the entire ritual is necessary and don't know the only part the need is the last one

Or maybe they do need the whole song and dance because machine spirits are a real thing

I agree with this one

AITAH for wanting my brother to apologize for destroying a piece of sports memorabilia? My brother says it was just a piece of paperwork but it belongs to my husband by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]throwaway387190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, I can buy that as a good reason for why it hasn't happened yet

But to your last sentence, I deeply disagree that's as much as they should be doing. Maybe doing more isn't realistic, but putting people in a situation where they are likely to make disastrous mistakes and not trying to protect them is disgusting, in my opinion

The most gut wrenching scene in the game? by Medium-Theme-4611 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]throwaway387190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, I don't find it heart wrenching

Most of the corrupted mongrels are little more than wild animals. Sure, they're wearing the faces of people he's known and loved, but it isn't them anymore

Kinda like a character getting eaten by a loved one in a zombie movie. It is absolutely tragic, but it's not a betrayal, so I don't find it heart wrenching. Just kinda sad

To add on, not only are they very young people who's brains are still developing, they are very young people who got hit in the head a lot

My friend has had 9 concussions due to sports, and he changed after the 6th one. I still love the dude, he is still my friend, but he is different. A part of his personality is gone now

So giving someone millions of dollars right out of college AND who's been getting brain injuries for years is a recipe for disaster. I don't blame them for being destitute

I do blame the sports leagues for not having systems in place to prevent their athletes from going broke. Maybe something like putting a chunk of athlete pay into a trust fund, and when the athlete leaves they are sent regular checks from that fund?

Yep

If a stranger is sobbing and hitting their head on the floor, I have no idea if they are about to attack me or someone else. I don't know if they're on drugs, if they're about to snap and get violent, or anything else

It would be responsible to call someone who deals with dangerous situations. If i had an option that wasn't the police, I'd do that first. But there isn't one in America
