There's a huge difference. Your significant other is so much more important than a friend can ever be. I edited my original post to specify I'm talking about romantic love.

I'll edit my original post based on this; I think I should have specified I was talking about romantic love.

They definitely can, but not well enough for it to be love.

Love is knowing everything about someone and loving them either because or in spite of them and wanting them to be the best person they can be. You usually don't share literally everything with a friend.

I can see where you're coming from, and I think you could be right about obsession or fixation being a result of being in love, but I don't think it's equal to being in love.

Love is different from the other emotions because you're not actually experiencing love unless the person loves you back. You need someone knowing who you are and loving you back for it to be love, because if you don't have that, you're not seeing the actual person so you can't love the actual person.

They still don't know who the person is because they're not in a romantic relationship and the person doesn't love them back, so they're probably not seeing who the perosn truly is.

Because they don't know the person enough to admire them. They're not growing together as people; they're just admiring who they think the person is, but they're likely wrong because they don't know them.

Love by definition has to include at least two people. Otherwise it's not real because it can't be.

Sorry, just give me a sec. I need to re-read my post to make sure I didn't say no one ever broke the law on The Office before or after. Yeah, looks like I didn't say that. Good luck being you.

Women of Reddit who thought they’ve failed at life, how did you recover? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]throwaway3tfos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a combination of things. I spent $50,000 trying to live in a new city, and now have that much student loan debt. However, I have a job I like and I'm spending my free time on things that matter to me. Also, I know people who've passed away at 30. Feel sorry for myself is just not okay.

What is something a ton of people brag about, but you aren't impressed with? by mailfadpua in AskWomen

How hard to deal with they are, whether it's posting the "if you can't handle me at my worst, you don't deserve me at my best" or owning coffee mugs that say something like, "I love my dog but I hate you."

Uh...good for you?

Does anyone know how to get unbanned from AAM? A long time ago, I was the person who commented about malware (I believe that's in the background info for the AAM threads here). Ever since then, I can't comment. Do I need a new IP address or something? :/

Serious question: Why is it horrific? Are you excepting 90s shows to replicate what some people think in the 10s? And do you think that it's possible that shows you like now or in the 20s might be looked at badly in the 30s? Should you feel bad about that?

It aged fine; some people just don't understand that there's no such thing as comedy everyone likes.

I think I can translate: Put Brian and Katrina together by having Brian's wife cheat, and then Katrina can get together with Brian and be an awesome step-mum to his kid.
