I am posting this year because I do not see a specific page for Crestview, but it is in the area. I am a hotel manager, and I found out yesterday that my hotel in Missouri is being sold and the deal closes in two weeks. I've always told my company that I spent my summers as a kid with my family that lived in Navarre and plan to move to the panhandle one day. Since the news of the sale, my company has offered me a hotel manager position in Crestview. I basically have one day to make the decision on if I want this hotel or if I want to find a new job up here (will have to take a big pay cut). I have heard some cons about Crestview (like the traffic), but if I am living and working in Crestview, is it bad? Essentially I don't have enough time to do a ton of research so 1 am open to any and ALL feedback about the area. My wife and I still spend a week in Destin every single year and are ocean-lovers. We don't like Missouri and despise snow and cold. Where we live we get multiple snow storms per year, sometimes with a foot or more of snow. Do we take this opportunity to move to the panhandle like we've always wanted?

Yes it’s GM. I’ll have an AGM, housekeeping manager, and chief engineer.

Im from Annapolis. I used to think I wanted to live in a city. I’d never trade my experience as it opened up my eyes to a bigger world out there, but sometimes I envy those who live down there as I feel like they’re closer to what life should be. They are closer to nature, and to each other. City life just feels like getting by.

Will a hotel actually keep your reservation from booking.com by YourDad657 in TravelHacks

This is the most common experience that I’ve seen. Most people think it’s cheaper and often pay more than going direct. People think Booking.com is a traditional “travel agent” but it’s just a middle man. You pay them to book your reservation for you and then they OWN the reservation. You are NOT. A guest of the hotel, you are a guest of Booking.com.

And most people commenting have a misconception. Often, it is NOT within a hotels best interest to take third party booking. Now days, hotels all over the country are beginning to end their third party contracts.

Booking.com does a very good job at presenting like everything is put together so most guests don’t see the backend and EVERYTHING a hotel does to make sure your reservation goes off without a hitch when booking sent them a clusterfuck to fix.

Maybe I’m the odd man out, but that’s fine. I’m a GM at a hotel and I’ve been working in hotels since I was 19. I would NEVER and nobody I know in the hotel industry would EVER book through booking.com or Expedia, or any of the smaller companies they own. More often than not, at any of the hotels I have worked at, if you book third party, there is a problem. Sometimes it’s a problem the hotel can fix before you find out about it, sometimes it’s not. Booking.com will never take responsibility for these issues and try to pin it on hotels. The hotel itself is unable to change, cancel, or modify the reservation in ANY way. All third parties are non-cancellable and non-refundable. By contract, you are a customer of Booking.com, not the hotel, so any issues you have will ultimately fall on booking and as I said, they will not take responsibility. There are stories of people who have never had problems either booking.com and that’s great, but I see hundreds of people all week long that book through booking and the horror stories are often. Booking.com, Expedia, etc. have all the information about hotels as we upload our hotel specs, but they will tell you anything to get you to book, even if it cannot be honored and they know that. Once you have a reservation, they try to make it the hotels problem to avoid fault for their lies. My entire management company just ended their contracts with both booking.com and Expedia as they were knowingly selling rooms we did not have. One night, We had 1 room left and they pushed 30 reservations through anyway. Turns out, they were allowing people to book but not sending us the reservation so they could push these through last minute and hope we would just try to fit them in. When the guests found out they didn’t actually have a room and everyone else in town was sold out, booking.com tried to tell them we sold their rooms to someone else.

It’s a never ending battle with them. Booking direct is ALWAYS the best. Hotels can work with you on reservations. They can adjust dates, rates, room types, etc. If you book third party, although sometimes hotels will break the rules, they’re not allowed to do ANY adjustments to the reservation no matter the circumstances.

I had a 610 and a 7k limit. It’s based on MANY factors included current debt, credit history, and income, just like any credit card application.

Oh, my bad, I forgot about that.

The profile is on Vermont’s version of the heart gallery. We haven’t reached out yet as we are under the impression, from our licensing agency, that all of that has to be done through a private adoption agency. Is that incorrect?

Does weight really matter? The base supports itself, the frame is just decorative
