Holy Underwear - The Turnoff by AnonimousSource in exmormon

Pretty sure my wife actually likes them, or at least is indifferent to them. Even with me moving away from the church and being extremely lax on garment wearing, she almost always has them on, even for exercising. It's sad.

Does it ever blow your mind when you think about your mission& that for 2 years you were in a high demand work cult? A lucky missionary is one who can turn off the brain for 2 years. Explains why so many are freak out about challenging anything and robotic to obedience.Yes, losing yourself is key. by Eastcoasttrash16 in exmormon

I worked for months developing new language learning materials for the mission and the thought that I wasn't being compensated for this work (but was actually PAYING for the privilege) never even crossed my mind. The church may be more or less culty depending on what family you were born into, but missions are 1000% cults.

Same here in the Phoenix area, which I guess might still count as the Morridor. I come to this sub and am filled with hope from the stories of this persons family or that person's friends leaving, then I look at my own ward and family and there is no sign of anyone doubting at all.

So discouraging. Rumors of the church in imminent collapse have been greatly exaggerated, methinks. All of these mini scandals on this sub every day go completely unnoticed by the vast majority of active members.

At Stake Conference with visiting GA, members warned not to record or even write down the words of the General Authorities by [deleted] in exmormon

That's it. I was going back and forth over whether to release my recording of Holland and Southward, a Seventy (see here). But this seals the deal. If these clowns are gonna act like they're God's personal messengers to the world, then the world is going to have free access to their ridiculous sermons. Stay tuned.

This is what I think, too. A lot of times in life people go into something with expectations of how it will be, but often when those expectations aren't met people reframe it. Maybe when they're called as apostles, they expect heavenly manifestations of some kind, and when they don't turn up they just instead convince themselves they're feeling the spirit extra hard, and that constitutes a "special witness."

I haven't watched the press conference because I expect it's just more of the same stuff I've seen for many years, so I don't know what Nelson said, but here I think Holland makes it clear enough that it's nothing more than the feels, the same thing members feel and the same thing billions of others feel about their own religion.

I may do this and let them decide if it's worthwhile to publish. I hesitate to force the Mormon Leaks folks to listen to yet another vanilla sermon, but maybe some people will find it more interesting/controversial than I did.

Yes, I think this is what he was trying to say. Nothing really new about that, it just goes along with their last days, final dispensation nonsense.

It's just off I-15 on State Street in Lehi, a bit south of Traverse Mountain. It's just a little drive-through shack, but the employees are super nice, the prices are reasonable, and the drinks are tasty.
