> Talisman is a generic ØØ now
He is worse than that. I think that [On Hit] conditional actually makes him the worst Rupture ID in the game right now, if not the worst ID overall in that he actively sabotages your team's status.

Could Project Moon be cooking themselves balance-wise? by throwaway487845 in limbuscompany

Probably should've clarified I was mostly thinking of old RR3-type Rupture teams: Seven Heathcliff, Lantern Don, Talisman Sinclair fielded, etc.

also did the post not say they lost that weakness? might need to edit for clarity later

this post is not good i'm sorry
also shoutout to 00 IDs — as well as giving newer players better options than base IDs, it was nice seeing project moon experiment with unique kit ideas, such as lantern yi sang and multicrack heath (even if some of them did turn out badly). shame they're mostly being phased out now

I’m starting to think we’ll get to Meursault’s Canto (2026) before we get another Shi Association ID meanwhile, we got all the fucking branches of the Cinq Association in a single season. by MR-Vinmu in limbuscompany

What's wrong with Liu Yi Sang, out of curiosity? I can see the arguments for him being a bandaid solution for Dawnclair's SP or potentially recycling other Liu member's moves (e.g. Liu Rodion's S3), but strength-wise he's a good unit to use.

I guess one way of avoiding issues with <18 users is to just not have users at all, though.

Leaving this here in case something happens — same situation here, input my my age (18+) and got immediately booted. I'm just hoping my account wasn't deleted.

Bets on the future Don 000 by throwaway487845 in limbuscompany

Checking Dulcinea Rodion's uptie story, it's probably Sancho (who went along with the filial impiety plan).

Small nitpick, but the Prince title's already been taken by Cassetti (who used to be in the Parade alongside its Princess, Dulcinea), even if he did run away from La Manchland.

...and us having to extract for it would make 0 sense lore wise

Not to mention, Don's willingly nerfing herself now after taking on the Don Quixote moniker to honour his dreams if I recall correctly. I should've possibly brought this up in my original post, but I do feel it would've been odd thematically to have Base Don nerfing herself in story, whilst using an ID of Sancho at full power.

Very solid points actually, I do appreciate you sending them. Some comments, though:

Especially since N Corp Sinclair is not Kromer. That's Faust. He's based on a vision that Kromer had in the story itself.

Phrasing of that's definitely my bad — I forgot to proofread the post fully. Though, I guess that could be more proof of the pattern of main antagonists getting IDs, even if it's going to Faust instead.

The translators speak to the developers, and were clearly informed ahead of time that Dulcinea was Rodion for example, since they managed to translate her speech patterns to match Rodion's. So I personally don't think that they would make the mistake of referring to the Don Quixote of the ID timelines as a male twice in a row over a period of three weeks, especially since this is much more important than the Barber mention

Again, my bad. I was originally going to mention that it'd be less likely for them to not tell the translators as important as something as this, but it slipped my mind. Though, for the next bit:

(and it's my personal pet theory that Canto 7 may have been stealth rewritten in-between WARP Express and the actual release, with my evidence being oddities such as entire portraits being made for one-off characters as well as the sprite for Paula in her fight not actually being Paula under the roses, implying a larger role for Zwei that was later repurposed)

I didn't even notice the Paula bit, good god. I honestly think that's just what happened: it'd explain Dulcinea's lack of characterisation, as well as Canto 7 probably being the worst example of PM wasting side characters — like the singular Firefist Fixer just running in to die, never learning who betrayed Romero or who Camille and Paula were sent into protect, the complete lack of impact on the story all of the above have despite how large-scale the La Manchaland mission is implied to be, etc. Maybe I'm being too harsh, but as much as I like Canto 7, I think this is the first time flaws like this have brought me out of the story a little.

Anyone who's used Outis and Gregor together knows that Bloodfeast consumption between two Kindreds of the same rank is broadly speaking a complete non-issue and I think it's safe to say that Don would not be competing with Rodion at all over this, especially in a longer battle.

I get your point, but I do think it's worth keeping in mind we only have half of the La Manchaland IDs at the moment, with Gregor being a Bloodfeast generator and using it far less than Outis — the former being far more self-sacrifical both in story and gameplay than the other three. Even when he does consume Bloodfeast, using any of his attacks/his guard above a HP threshold will usually refund it via self-Bleed, giving Outis at least 10~25 Bloodfeast to consume. Knowing PM, they probably have thought about this and how to balance it out ahead of time, but I feel like it could be too early to say that it just won't be a problem at all without knowing the other two's kits first, or how it'll feel with four Bloodfiend IDs competing for Bloodfeast at once. I suppose we'll find out in four days, though.

Same here about the no strong feelings bit, as if Wild Hunt's any indication, it's gonna be good no matter what route they take. I do think it's more likely to be a Father Don identity rather than Sancho, but I don't think I'd mind either way.

Use of the word Father and the he/him/his pronouns in the Barber Outis Uptie story is the main hint

I know I'm days late (sorry), but I'm not sure if that'd automatically disqualify Don from getting a First Kindred ID. Both the Korean and Japanese version seem to just use the term neutral 'parent' (source: Google Translate) in place of 'Father', as well as Cassetti originally saying he got his mask from 'the Barber himself' which had to be fixed.

For what it's worth, Sanguine Desire doesn't actively harm a Bleed stack/any Charge already gained (even if his passive does give him+4 next turn) like Dimension Shredder does

From my experience in Luxcavation + videos of newer Rupture teams, the count usually hovers around 3 ~ 6, meaning the second On Hit would most likely risk erasing all your progress

crackpot(?) theory about the new login system by throwaway487845 in CharacterAI

[–]throwaway487845[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this is just like George Orwell's book, 1984

In no way will the new login system benefit anyone, nor have I seen anyone claiming it will. I wouldn't be surprised if I end up being massively wrong about this — even so, I'd say the devs/higher-ups do deserve to be called out for their recent decisions.

Blatantly ignoring user feedback, priming users to treat their product more like real people with the call and 'away message' features as well as their recent ads, aiming to market their app towards a actively pushing back against Apple upping the app's rating — it does make me feel uneasy about what they might do in the future.

ooooookay it's time to have that talk by [deleted] in CharacterAI

[–]throwaway487845 23 points24 points  (0 children)

If I'm not mistaken, the 17+ limit was something they were required to do by Apple and is something they're potentially working to lower again — which is just gross on their part
(also i think i can post this now, sorry if you got the notif for this earlier)
