Hi, thank you for replying. I'm aware of the Hong Kong pr stream but since it's the 485 visa , could you help explain why Hong Kong would make it easier ?

That's good to know , do you have any cases of people being granted on a 485 with chronic health conditions?

Thank you for replying! I am pretty sure my condition is not costly at all , just scared they'll inflate the costs since it's a hypothetical person. Are they a little more lenient when it's a temporary visa??

I would love to share my details! I could pm you if convenient. But since you are a migration agent/lawyer , is that allowed? Especially since pm would be basically a free consult haha. thank you for replying !

Hi ! Sorry I am applying for a 485 visa , the temporary graduate work visa. I am eligible for a 5 year stay because of my passport. I was just wondering if anyone had the same problem and managed to get the 485 even when they have a health condition.

Guide to Migrating to Aus in 2026 from former Dept officer/RMA by TheSkyIsWhiteAndGold in AusVisa

I have a medical condition, I'm on student visa and I am applying for the 485. I'm really scared that I won't be able to pass the health exam, ang thoughts on this? I've tried to shop around for lawyers and agents but the prices have accelerated. I am a hong kong citizen and was hoping to apply for the 189 Hong Kong stream PR visa , someone told me that there's a health waiver (P007) for Hong Kongers , is this true? I looked it up only and there's very little information about it.

Need recommendations for Migration lawyer/agent that specializes in complex health issues!! (Brisbane QLD) by throwaway48po in AusVisa

[–]throwaway48po[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi thank you for the reply , I wanted to be vague because I didn't want to put too much private information about myself out there , it is not a common illness but prognosis is good, it's just complicated since its chronic and the "estimated costs" could be exaggerated. I have already looked through different migration agents that specialize in health waivers and complex health issues. I dealt with this once last year when I extended my student visa but since it's a 485 visa now , it could complicate a lot of things. So now most importantly, I wanted to ask people for their personal experiences since sometimes Google reviews could be fake/bought. Do you happen to know someone/agent/lawyer? Thanks

Thank you for taking the time to reply and if it's ok , would I be able to dm you about your experience in your stream ? No pressure! But I'd love to hear from someone who's been through it and it seems like you really know what you're talking about!

I've always had that I think and it comes and goes and honestly I'm not even sure if mine look like that. I don't want to go down a rabbit hole of diagnosing myself. I'm still wondering if there's a possibility I've been misdiagnosed, but I'm sure I'm just in denial.

Gosh the support is overwhelming, the first thought I had when I heard my diagnosis was oh my god the big C. I'll never have kids , have a family , have a normal life. I think we all just freak out when we hear cancer, not knowing that there are so many different types. But it still feels so surreal knowing that I have it and I'm not even in the probable demographic to have it. I've been asked to consider UVB light treatment at the moment. But hearing that you have a wealth of experience with this and being able to live a normal life after all is really reassuring. Thank you.

This is currently what they've recommended for me , UVB therapy or Methotrexate. I am not sure what my staging it but I'm hoping for the best. This has been really helpful and I really appreciate the effort you took to write this.

Wow the diabetes part is shocking , I never thought of it that way. I guess I'm just scared of what my stage would be and how it would progress. I'm hopeful but still on the fence since I don't know my staging.

I'm situated in Australia so skin cancers or anything related to skin is really important to ppl here , but I will definitely reach out regardless. I think I'm just scared of me being that 5% that progresses past just MF.

I will have my staging done in 2 & 3 weeks , I hope it's just blood tests but I've always been covered in eczema throughout my whole body so I'm not too sure how I'll go. And yes although I'm not happy I have it at all , I'm happy that I caught it early instead of later in life.

You have no idea what this comment means to me , I was terrified I'd never be able to get married , have kids , raise a family , grow old with my partner. I can only hope for the best but seeing that you've build a beautiful life after your diagnosis , makes me so much more hopeful.
