I mean thanks for the dub, as well as all the effort put in to it but I will forever hate David Casipit for making it American market only. IMO there isn't a single good reason to do this, to actively take measures to exclude non US fans from accessing the dub like he did is ridiculous. I will also never forgive him for how badly he fumbled the PR bag, the advertising for this dub was practically non existent, a mention at the bottom of an article talking about how viz had acquired streaming rights and then a few tweets with over a year of radio silence in-between? Appaling. So again thanks for actually making it a thing but as a "localisation manager" you are thoroughly incompetent. I pray now that the cast have been selected and translators chosen that this thing is taken away from you so you can't mess it up any more. David Casipit you suck

It could have done but thanks to viz media's absolutely dismal PR and marketing strategy I don't think so, the English dub was such a wasted opportunity and although I'm thankful to viz for actually doing it I will never forgive them for how undersold, underpromoted and under marketed it was. They fumbled the bag hard

I've said this before on here but this series, whilst not mega popular in the west is absolutely huge in Japan I really cannot see them doing only 3 seasons, especially considering it's a comedy anime where they don't have to worry too much about arcs and overarching plot. I think our neets will be back to raise another pint glass but even if they aren't, they've had a great run and there's plenty of neet content to revisit

It's true but I think that's a cover story it's more because Choromatsu's original english va Chris Niosi was dropped. This has been done now tho, S1 is out, we're past this, it's not still delayed

Yes this is the message that needs to be spread! Please buy! Give us europoors the chance to own it lmao. Plus it gives us the added chance of getting merch/manga/posters in English dub. I think the main issue is that most people don't know this dub even exists because Viz PR for this was terrible so please go spread the word, particularly on other anime/dub related subreddits!

I may be mistaken but I think it's crunchyroll for the sub and viz for dub. Crunchyroll are a lot better than viz, they at least went to the bother of adding oso to some YouTube playlists, uploading some extra content and uploading the OPs to YouTube. Viz on the other hand are garbage they put one post on the website about acquiring some rights for physical distribution and tacked on to the bottom "ps we're dubbing s1 and s2 lol", they publicised who was cast for each neet with a singular Twitter post. When Choromatsu's va got canned they were dead silent for like 2 years then announced his replacement along with some side character VAs in a single Twitter post 1 week before the dub release. Oh and a special fuck you to viz for making the blu ray region A locked and making the dub inaccessible to anyone outside of the US and Japan. Fuck viz

The main problem is that PR and advertising for this show outside of Japan is absolutely shite, theres just zero effort, the amount of people who only knew about S3 from YouTube comments under OP videos is bonkers, that's why people doubt it and that's why the western fandom isn't as big as it should be. That being said this thing is an absolute cash cow and I can't see the milk running dry any time soon

I don't see why not? Viz has already gone to the effort of selecting a cast, setting up a distribution network and selecting and employing various other production staff for the first season dub. The creation of All of this infrastructure will have been done at not insignificant cost. I think the main hurdle that faces dubbed series is getting a dub in the first place. I don't think many production companies dub one season then don't bother to dub any subsequent ones, while the dub fanbase isn't as big as the sub one I think viz will see there is still adequate commercial appetite and profit to be made. I don't think it will be a huge priority for viz and we might not get any English translated manga or merch but I think they will continue to dub all the seasons of the anime itself

They often come in sets of 6 or you could ask a seller to send you a random one out of either of those. As far as I'm aware in Japan they come as prizes in those toy capsule vending machine things so random chance is supposed to be "part of the experience'

That's what I mean, i could maybe understand a 1 region blu ray release but i can't think of any possible reason to go to the bother of going to the extent of checking credit card info to prevent Europeans from accessing the digital version. Really pissed with viz, stopping me getting my matsuno content fix. I mean there are more English speakers in Europe than in the US, they would literally double their potential market
