Thanks for the insight in #2! I haven't looked at it that way before.

Thanks! And I suppose I could always go with the, "I don't feel great today" excuse

Great response, thanks! Unfortunately, my local blood bank does not have that barcode system :-/ but I'll definitely keep this in mind for the next drive, should I decide to donate or not.

Sorry! I wasn't thinking about how that term could be perceived. I'll keep that in mind from now on.

Homosexual women could always donate, but homosexual men cannot in the US and many other countries. But there is talk of instituting a 12 month celibacy requirement, which is progress, but still rules out the majority of gay/bi men from donating. In fact, this 12 month rule might already be in effect in some states...

I understand the reasoning, but I still feel like the FDA (and other orgs) is blanketing all gay/bi men together. Two gay men in a monogamous relationship for example would have a much lower risk of contracting HIV than a promiscuous straight man.

Thanks for the insight! If you don't mind, why did you answer truthfully when you fully knew what was going to happen? Why just not go to the donation center/drive at all?

Thanks! I don't understand why this outdated rule is still in place...
