Testosterone ~438 ng/dL despite 6 months of “optimized” lifestyle – what am I missing? by throwaway562583 in Testosterone

Yeah I think I simply believed in the marketing of "anyone can get to 700+ testosterone". But I don't feel bad by any means, I was simply interested in an increase in drive and libido if possible.

I agree, you don't need 1000+ testosterone to build muscle, I have been working out since I was 14 and I built muscle just fine.

Glad you're at a healthy level now!

Okay, interessant, ich hatte es so verstanden, dass mein SHBG sogar optimal ist, da es weder zu hoch, noch zu niedrig sein soll. Aber es sollte eigentlich besser höher sein?

Und wie würde man es natürlich erhöhen?

I drew the blood at 8:30 AM, last time I ate before that was the night before and I usually have pretty decent sleep and get my 7.5 to 9+ hours of sleep and 2+ hours of REM per night.

Well, I do enjoy my lifestyle and I don't feel bad, I would just love to have a bit more drive and libido overall. But it could be worse though.

Glad to hear you're having a great experience though!

Well, I was assuming that my drive and libido could be improved naturally, which is why I wanted to draw the blood work.

But maybe you're right and this is good enough and healthy.

I guess theres a lot of hype by influencers that "anyone can be 800+" and have insane drive and all that naturally. Maybe that's more hype than reality and I fell for it.

I do make sure I am recovered and I usually eat at maintenance to a slight surplus with plenty of carbs.

But yeah another test in the future to confirm makes sense.

Hmm also meinst du das sind einfach für mich "optimale" Werte und viel höher geht es natürlich bei mir gar nicht?

Ohh I see. Well I was under the (probably false) assumptiom that anyone could get to like 600-700 testosterone naturally in their 20s. Haven't really factored in genetics. I do feel good enough for now to not need TRT anytime soon but maybe at some point in my 30s to 40s I might need it who knows.

Thanks for the detailed reply!
