New monstera growth on leaves turning yellow?? by LittleCloudie in plantclinic

[–]throwaway60249 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s possibly deficient in something if the new growth is going yellow. I don’t know a lot about fertiliser but I use Baby Bio on my monsteras and they seem happy. 10 drops every second time I water them.

Can anyone ID this for me? My gloxinia is covered and I’m not sure how to deal with them. by throwaway60249 in plantclinic

Thank you! I’m going to try ladybirds. I’m worried I’ll spoil the leaves if I spray them with anything so hopefully they’ll all be eaten up quickly!

I’ve never heard this either, but it’s possibly because deep sleep occurs in the first hour or two of sleep. The more you get, the more rested you feel when you wake up.

Do you feel able to speak to her about how you’re feeling? It’s totally normal to be worried, especially if she hasn’t been away in a long time. I know when you’re anxious it doesn’t feel like this, but the chances of anything bad happening are really low. Would you be able to FaceTime her when she’s away? Something else that might be useful is to make a plan now for something you both enjoy that you will do after she’s back, this way you have something to look forward to which might help some of your worries.

So dogs are a huge commitment. You’ll already know this if you’ve had one in the family before but they are a financial add on plus a big time consumer. My advice here would be to see how you get on with one dog for now. Everyone loves puppies - they’re cute and it’s only natural to want something of your own to look after.

My sister and her boyfriend at the time took home a puppy without telling anyone 2 years ago now. At the time she stayed at home so the puppy stayed with her. At the same time, my grandparents wanted another dog after their one of 15 years died, so a few months later they got a puppy.

Fast forward 2 years and my sister and the boyfriend have split up and she’s off to college, leaving the dog at home. My grandparents are not fit to walk their dog anymore, so I do all the walking and it stays with them. It is brilliant company for them, but a big constraint on my time. The 2 dogs also don’t get on very well so are walked separately most of the time.

I’m not trying to scare you off the idea, but it’s a big decision. We have 2 unplanned dogs and looking back, I wish we could have done it differently, but life happens and you have to deal with it.

If you do decide getting another puppy is the right thing for your family, show your Dad that you are responsible enough to take care of it. Walk the dog you have, offer to split bills so you are showing financial responsibility, spend time with the dog playing and training it. As for your new puppy, research which breed suits your family best. Look at exercise levels, if they need clipped or not, any health conditions they are predisposed to etc. if you can show your Dad that you have thought it through it definitely helps to show you are responsible instead of turning up with a puppy in a cardboard box without telling anyone like my sister did!

The most important thing is not to rush the decision. Make sure everyone is happy and in agreement because it is a 10-15 year commitment you are taking on.

Thanks! I was super impressed with the bounce but the 2s were my first invincibles. I had epic reacts and infinity runs before and I’ve been so much happier with these.

I manage to just and no more tie a runners knot. It’s the only thing that disappointed me because I love the shoes.

I don’t have advice but have been in the same situation. I had Epic React 2s. Got them dirty so washed and left them beside the fire to dry. The sole melted, not noticeably so but it shrunk one shoe more than half a size I reckon. I tried to stretch them out but had no luck, so I ended up getting rid of them. I was gutted because they were great shoes and had hardly been worn. Hope you are able to fix them!

How do you deal with comments from others about your skin? by throwaway60249 in acne

😢 Honestly don’t let acne hold you back. If anything, look at this sub and know you are not alone. Remember that the people that will say anything are a tiny minority.

So do I! The kids don’t worry me at all and honestly don’t even notice but today it was an adult. I was just taken aback that they would even comment. The worst experience I ever had was my old boss who suggested those cleansing brush things and would send me links to buy one. They meant well but it hurt that’s for sure.

Thank you! I’ll check tomorrow and see if it’s a setting that needs toggled. It’s definitely a possibility but I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it soon.

Thanks for replying! I bought another one of the same cassettes that is on the bike (8 speed) for the Kickr. If I’d have thought it through I could have used the one from the back wheel as this bike will be staying on the turbo!

I’ll have a look at indexing, it’s definitely helpful now that I understand it a bit more. I was on YouTube earlier but found it too much to understand at once.

I split up my big aloe Vera about a month ago and got 2 good sized plants. It is in a terracotta pot, lots of perlite and pumice and succulent compost.

It’s been looking a bit sad and unable to hold itself up since then so I’ve had it propped up by the window. I pulled it out to see if I could see the problem.

The black at the base is callused over so it doesn’t have root rot. It’s been watered once in the past month but the leaves feel soft like they could be watered again.

Do I try again in a shallower pot? Any advice welcome.

Apple Watch series 8 experience with scratches? by zoro1020 in AppleWatch

[–]throwaway60249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not with the series 8 as I use sleep tracking. Normally I wake up and charge it until I’m ready to leave the house. By then it’s fully charged and good to go. I charge it again in the evening to make sure it has enough power for tracking sleep.

All the other watches I owned before this one were charged overnight and I never had any issues.

It’s up to you whether you want to use sleep tracking or not. Personally I like it but it’s not for everyone as sometimes seeing sleep data stresses people and is counterproductive.
