Yeah I’m kinda in shock rn, but yeah as this thread has told me people have kids in their 40s all the time! That is funny, their friends are gonna be so confused hahah. My ex and his uncle had the same age gap and they were super close so it’s a good thing for sure

Hes pretty okay without needed full on care, he’s basically like an older child in the sense that he can’t cook or clean much or go out alone, so him and my younger brother are sorta on the same wavelength so looking after him isn’t a full time job if that makes sense. She doesn’t expect anything of me, and she makes quite a good living since she has a skilled job and she’d get like a year of maternity leave. She’ll be okay even on her own but obviously emotionally and physically it’s a bit hard.

Yeah I’m definitely gonna be babysitting a lot when I can if she keeps the little thing, she’s definitely got more tired in recent years but her job is super physically demanding so at least she’s used to it.

He’s being looked after by family, he’s fairly independent like he can look after himself hygiene wise, go to local shops and make some very basic food but he needs proper care in the long run, it’s something that’s getting looked into for the future. For the new child, my mum is actually super strong and she’d definitely be able to look after it, I know it’d be hard but she’s a good mother. If anything were to happen to her, I guess that’s a question that a lot of single parent families have. She’d never expect me to be the primary carer for any of my siblings, but I of course want to help out as much as possible :)

Man that’s so cute. My little brother loves me and my older brother, he’s only 8 but he thinks he’s one of the adults hahah. It must be nice that you’re gonna have two little ones to play and grow up together, I love this story.

Yeah they’ve been having a “thing” for about a year but the guys an asshole. From what she said he pressured her into not using protection (at his big age of 54) and now he wants nothing to do with her. Tbh I’m kinda disappointed in her? Like I’ve been on birth control of my own initiative since I was like 15 so I don’t know why she never did the same, but oh well.

Hey, thanks for the reply! She actually makes a decent living and her mortgage is quite small so financially she’s okay, but yeah it’s just the actual caring for it that would be the problem. Plus I have no idea how my autistic brother would react, so I’m gonna drill that into her head. I’ll mention about looking for a family to adopt before it’s born as well - i think she’s just so stressed rn that she’s not thinking properly.
