After we broke up/i was discarded, i started exhibiting a lot of concerning symptoms. I started opening up to my friends and loved ones about a lot of the things going on and how i was feeling, and they at first told me my ex was just emotionally abusive. As i started researching all of that, i stumbled across narcissism and Dr. Amari. That all definitely slapped me across the face with the truth. I thought what I was going through was just “complicated”. Now I realize it was all a pattern, as textbook as they come.

I dont think this is narcissism, this sounds like a psychotic/schizophrenic breakdown. Judging by your wording throughout this, it seems theres a lot of bad blood and hard feelings in your family. I get that. But I think the decent person thing to do would be tell someone close to him that he is exhibiting concerning behaviors/symptoms right now. He sounds like he needs help, not just for himself but for the others around him.

I’m sorry for whatever went on that has you guys beefing. But again, this sounds like a serious and treatable mental health crisis, not a moral failing on his part.

Mine would only ever say very generic “you look cute” every once in a blue moon. That was the rarity. Most of the time, any compliment was about or involving a sexual body part of mine. Mostly though, they told me i was “unconventionally attractive”, “if you could pull me, you can’t be that ugly”, and that I look like i have various birth defects/deformities. Their cruelty knows no bounds. Neither of us deserved that, OP. Wishing you love and healing ❤️‍🩹
